I’m very pleased to announce that we’ve added our first staff writer. We’ve been growing quickly and I can’t keep up with all of the deals and reviews so it’s great to have another person on board. You should be familiar with her writing style as she contributed the excellent guest post “free gas at giant and stop & shop“. It’s nice to be able to add somebody to the team that has a bit of a different perspective on things as Arielle is a stay at home Mom. Below she’s given us a brief introduction:
So who is behind these crazy schemes to get you cash back and free travel? Just a suburban stay at home mom who dreaded the day her youngest turned 2. Because that meant he could no longer fly as a lap infant. While he is very cuddly, I don’t love being crammed in an economy seat with a wiggly toddler. But soon every trip meant paying for four plane tickets and hunting desperately for reasonably priced hotel rooms that didn’t make us feel like sardines in a can. So I did what I always do when confronted with a problem. I get to researching.
I am of the firm belief that there is always a way to do something better, smarter, and cheaper. I have always been a deal hound and a couponer. I thought I was doing everything I could to save by using a cash back card, always checking for a coupon or promo code. But once I discovered the world of mile and points I fell in love. As a mom I already spent a good chunk of my day running into the grocery store for milk, or CVS for Tylenol to soothe my teething toddler, ect. Very glamorous, I know. So the idea that every trip to store could earn me real money or a dream family vacation, well that was down right exciting. I was quickly hooked.
Now when my little girl pretends to pack for the beach in the middle of January, or my husband comes home from a long stressful day at work and needs a little R&R. I know I can get them to their happy places a whole lot faster. That’s an amazing feeling. I hope my posts get you a little closer to your happy places, too.
Everybody give Arielle a big welcome in the comments, she has a couple of exciting posts coming up that I’m sure you’ll enjoy. If you’d like to become a contributor to Doctor of Credit, we’d recommend submitting a guest post first and going from there. You will be paid $50 per guest post that is used on the site and based on the quality of these submissions we may offer you a more permanent position here like we have with Arielle.
