Update 12/2/19: Today is the last day to take advantage of this offer.
Update 11/13/19: More people now targeted.

Our Verdict
We posted earlier today about a similar deal with Amex, and reader Nick tells us about this Discover offer. Be sure you have your Discover card linked and see if you are targeted. The 20% off deal is obviously better due to the higher $50 savings potential. You’ll also get 5% back with Discover this quarter on Amazon.
This deal works on third party gift cards, but not Amazon or Visa gift cards. Samples gift cards available on Amazon:

I finally became eligible using the trick, but now may not need to buy anything. Should I still activate the offer or leave it inactivated to use for when it comes next time?
Not targeted. I tried removing the card and adding it back. I also tried activating the "pay with points". Nothing. Any trick to get targeted?
Adding another data point that my 20% offer is still working. I activated last week, I think, and initially it seemed like it wasn't working this morning, but now it is. I confirmed with a Chat representative that the offer is good through 12/31 now.
Interestingly if I click the activation link now, it says, "Thank you for your interest. Unfortunately you are not eligible for this offer." But it is working still for me.
I also activated this morning with an expiration of 12/31/2019...
Mine now shows that it expires December 31. Still around!
Thank you for this post. I was able to save $50 dollars in my iPad and accessories. Thank you
I bought an order for 200 and got 20% off, then I placed another order and was able to get the remainder of the $50 max off. So you can do multiple orders.
Oh also if you cancel your order before they ship it, the coupon will return to your account, in case anyone is wondering.
if I returned the item purchased using the promo, will the promo (20%) be returned as well? Was hoping that promo will be returned so I can apply it towards a different purchase? Can anyone help? thanks
Yes, based in my experience. But it needs to be before the offer expire. In my case I canceled an ipad and reorder when the price drops and it allow me to use it again.
No
Got it to qualify today. I had to remove the Discover card, wait a week and then added it and a week later today it showed up
Seems like the $20 off using 1 MR point deal can't be used with the Amazon Fire HD that's on sale today. Anyone experiences the same?
