  • You can currently receive a 30% transfer bonus when you transfer American Express Membership Rewards points to Hilton Honors points. Normally you can transfer 1,000 MR points and receive 2,000 Hilton Honors pointss, during this promotion you’ll receive 2,600 Hilton instead (1:2.6)
  • Some people are even seeing a transfer bonus of 50%, making it 1:3

Our Verdict

They just offered the same deal, looks like this one is YMMV again. Strange to see how many of these YMMV bonuses American Express is now offering, seems like this might be the new meta for transfer bonuses. Other previously Hilton transfer bonuses include:

In terms of how good this deal is it will really depend on how you value Hilton points and Membership Rewards points, I personally wouldn’t transfer unless I had a specific redemption in mind and even then it might make sense to get one of the increased offers on one of the Hilton cards instead:

  • My offer was 1000 Membership Rewards points = 3,000 Hilton Honors Points. I called customer service because I couldn't find my 3 digit pin number and he asked if I wanted to accelerate my "pending" rewards points and redeem 5000 points for 15000 Hilton points. So that all worked out!

  • So Doc, what's your opinion, worth it?
    Not that i have many points since I've been cashing out with schwab

      • You couldn’t have said it any better.
        MR points can be so valuable when you need them that why lock them up in Hilton even at 1:4 unless you have a specific redemption in mind. (Or if Amazon pops again the 0.5 for Hilton points).

  • Thanks for sharing this. Just transferred 350K for 1.05 million HH points. We now have 1.7M HH points for our 2 weeks upcoming in Hawaii. First trip, so we are looking forward to that.

  • Also got the 3:1 offer, but with some interesting special terms noted... If this is enforced, make sure to wait a couple days (starts December 10) and the transfer of extra bonus points might take a while.

  • Since I have the 1:3 offer I would have transferred some, but I already have 462K Hilton points...

  • So, if I transferred points to hilton last week at a rate of 1:2.6 to use for an upcoming trip and now I have a 1:3 offer, would they give me bonus hilton points if I call since I just transferred last week?
