Please note the fine print states: You must have received an email or mail piece directly from Capital One with a promotional code. This hasn’t been enforced in the past, but people are still waiting on their bonuses from the last promotion.

  • Capital One is offering a bonus of $200 when you open a 360 Money Market account and complete the following requirements:
    • Use promo code SAVE200
    • Deposit $10,000 or more by December 31st, 2017

The Fine Print

  • To qualify for the $200 bonus, deposit at least $10,000.00 from a non-Capital One account no later than 12/31/2017 11:59 p.m., E.T.
  • You must have received an email or mail piece directly from Capital One with a promotional code.
  • If you currently have or have had a Savings product with Capital One Bank, Capital One 360 or ING DIRECT before or are a Capital One Associate, you won’t be eligible for the bonus.
  • This offer cannot be combined with any other new account opening offer, and is strictly non-transferable. This offer is not valid for multiple accounts.
  • If you quality for a bonus, Capital One will deposit the bonus money into your account within 60 days of completing the above conditions.
  • Once it’s deposited, the funds will be available immediately. Account must be in good standing (not in default, closed, or suspended, or otherwise not in good standing).
  • All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Avoiding Fees

This account has no monthly fees and there is also no early account termination fee.

Our Verdict

Cumulative deposits have worked previously to trigger the $10,000 bonus requirement (e.g depositing & withdrawing $1,000  10 times has worked). They did offer a bonus recently that only required a deposit of $1,000 instead of $10,000. There is also no minimum deposit length which is nice. Personally I’d recommend waiting a bit as at the moment it seems like maybe they did start enforcing the targeted language in the last promotion, but maybe they just haven’t posted any bonuses for that yet. For now I won’t be adding this to the list of the best saving accounts bonuses.

    Bonus wasn't coming, so called yesterday. Was expecting rep to ask if I was targeted as a first question. The targeted nature of the offer was never mentioned at all. Rep told me it'll post within 08/02, that is 60 days. Then asked me to hold on for a minute. Returned and told me she verified I'd met the requirements and that I didn't need to wait, she was manually adding the $200. Ended call and logged in to see $200 pending.

    So guys even if you're not targeted, try calling!

  • per the positive DPs above, i guess they finally worked out the 'kinks'. i went to chat and asked about it. got a canned reply that it will show up within 60days and that she'll put a notation on my account if it doesn't show up. i was armed with the email posted above that's why i was 'brave' enough to contact them. :p capital one is quick to give out bonuses - a week's time most of the time. so after 2 wks of non-bonus i decided to contact them.

    a little glitch during the early days of app 'failed' me this time. tsk. for people who wants to take advantage of this promo, i think now is the time to app.

    Deposit still in pending status. Not targeted via email nor mail. However, I did receive a mailer for $500 bonus for 50k deposit (DoC if you're interested in that or anyone let me know.)
