- 2x points per $1 spent on travel and dining at restaurants
- 1x points per $1 spent on all other purchases

- Redeem points on Chase’s travel portal at a value of 1.25¢ due to the 25% travel redemption bonus
- Not eligible if you’ve received a sign up bonus on the Sapphire Preferred/Reserve in the last 48 months (standard is now 48 months)
- Chase 5/24 rule applies to this card
Our Verdict
In the past, there have been 30,000 Freedom prequalified offers too, so keep an eye out for that as well. As far as I know these prequalified offers do not bypass the 5/24 rule, unfortunately. These offers are sometimes available in branch as well, but typically only for Chase Private Client customers.
Public sign up bonuses on the CSP is currently 60,000 points; both offers have the $95 annual fee intact for the first year. Another option is the Just For You offers found in the Chase login, some are seeing there an offer for 60,000 points with the annual fee waived. The advantage of Just For You offers is that 5/24 doesn’t seem to affect those whereas the prequalified offers are affected by 5/24. Reader more about prequalified offers in this post.
If you are in 2-player mode, you may want to use a referral which gets 15,000 points + 60,000 points signup bonus (just keep in mind the possibility of paying taxes on those 15,000 points).
Thanks to reader Arthur for sending in this offer and image.

I am interested in getting Chase Sapphire Reserve. But for the sake of Welcome (Sign-up) bonus, can I apply for Chase Sapphire Preferred and use it until the bonus is posted and convert to Chase Sapphire Reserve ? Also can I transfer my Points from Preferred to Reserve ?
No, can't change to CSR for 12 months. Points will stay with card if you switch after 12 months.
I'm getting a pre-qualification offer however I don't remember I have had it in the past 48 months or now. How can I find out?
I secured message Chase to see if they could match this offer to me. They said they need a screenshot of my name on the banner or the email targeted to me... Is there a way to photo shop a name onto it? 😅
Is there any link to see if I am qualified for this offer.
Link is in the post.
As an added DP, I was just approved for the 70K offer this past Monday. The offer was presented as a pre-approved ad within the application. Go to Chase's free to sign up credit view dashboard. I added a link.
I'm still trying to figure out the appeal of this card. Its heavily promoted on certain travel sites but after the bonus I just can't see using the card. For non travel/dining their Freedom Unlimited is free and better (1.5x instead of 1x). For travel there plenty of other cards that offer greater value than 2x UR.
I am with you on that. Wells Fargo Propel offers 3x on travel, dining and streaming and its annual fee iz ZERO. Also Uber card 4% on dining, 3% on travel, 2% on streaming services + 50 credit for streaming. Annual fee ZERO.
70k sub and primary cdw are part of the appeal. not dealing with wf or barclay has its appeal as well.
If you are actually going to use the card for travel why wouldn't you do the Reserve? There seems to be a very small window where this card makes more sense than the Freedom Unlimited or Sapphire Reserve, and even then you'd probably still be better off by getting both those cards instead of this one.
For one year I get it for the bonus, but I can't imagine keeping it beyond that.
I’ve heard from internals that both Chase cards will get bumped up a notch this fall. CSR needs to stay competitive with Amex Plat and Citi Prestige and arguably Amex Gold and Citi Premier both offer better value than the CSP.
The phrase bump up a notch always makes me think of an annual fee increase.
Nothing. And I certainly didn't opt out of receiving offers. How do I make sure I'm opted in to receive offers
I have this question too.
I don't have this card showing, but I want to apply for it anyway (60k offer). I have 80% utilization on one of my chase business cards (taking advantage of 0% APR). Will that affect my approval chances? My report is overall clean, and only about $20 showing with limits of around 20K. My FICO's are around 750.
Doesnt look like CSP has a waived annual fee on any offer anymore. Is this accurate?
I just got this offer at the top of my log-in screen (I did not have anything under "offers for you" and did not get any prequals after filling out info).
I am LOL/24 but just got instantly approved for this card... kinda shocked
I also saw an offer for freedom unlimited 3% with 0 APR..
Where you mean exactly "top of my login screen". Also is this a biz and personal merged login or just personal?
This is personal (no bank account, just one CC)
The flag next to "Open an account" had red notification thing.
Usually the red notification says something like: "Apply for car refinancing.."
But I checked today, and it had the offer for CSP and the freedom unlimited.
Once I applied for the CSP, the freedom unlimited notification disappeared.
The application was super quick - it had two questions.
1. what is your current annual income
2. last four of social (or something like this)
then approval
Oh, and they pulled my TU
Chase doing everything possible to get CSP applications vs CSR. Rather than just pulling the unprofitable CSR card and admitting defeat.
Are there any CSR cardholders who arent coming out ahead? Serious question. Chase gotta be hating that POS card at this point LOL.
