The Offer

  • Uber is offering some existing Uber One customers a year for $57.60 when they try to cancel.
    • Open app up and navigate to Uber One
    • Select manage membership and then end membership
    • First option will to continue for $9.99, cancel this option
    • You might be presented with an offer for a 40% discount on an annual membership

Our Verdict

Better than paying full price, won’t work for everybody though.

  • Make sure you check your credit card charges. I tried cancelling Uber One last week, a few days before renewal. They gave me the 40% offer for a year's membership, and I decided to accept it. But then turns out they went ahead and charged my card the regular $96 fee. I just chatted with them, and their solution was just to cancel my Uber One, and refund the fee. Which is fine with me, since I wasn't convinced that even the 40% off made Uber One reasonable for my use. But if I hadn't noticed the charge quickly, who knows what would have happened...

  • My first option is to just pause the membership, when I decline that I'm getting "Stay and get 40% off Uber One next month" - is that the one you're supposed to decline and THEN get the 40% discount on an annual membership? 

    Or is the "40% off next month" my final offer?

  • Happened for me... coincidentally I had just gotten the notice that my membership was about to auto-renew. I had bought it last Black Friday during a sale, may be coordinated.

  • Happened to do this earlier today, and got an offer for 90% off 3 months at the next billing cycle (so $3)

  • Even though I already have Uber One until July 2025, i tried to cancel and it gave me 40% an annual membership when I renew next year. Nice!

  • Do not get the one year membership! I paid $27 for the year, and never get 40% off coupon anymore. Regret it so much!!!!

  • not sure if it has been worth it for me... ever since i got uber one they quickly stopped giving me promotional offers for each order. used to get offers weekly now its maybe monthly?

    • Same. As soon as I joined the ride rates went up so much they weren’t even competitive with Lyft.

  • Perfect timing, mine was expiring at the end of November. In the cancellation section I wrote that they remove promotions when a gift card is in my account and I was recently hit with surge pricing on a recent trip while the rest of the people in my group did not. I was immediately offered 40% off annual membership.
