  • I re-upped! Thanks to this posting. I just hate that they now charge you delivery fees like Uber. So not even sure why bother charging subscription fee.

  • I’m seeing this on my account but still not sure it’s worth it since I only use instacart when they send me promos like $20 off $40, etc

  • Didn't get this offer as an existing member but I did discover that linking your Costco membership gives $20 off renewal.

  • I had the free Chase Instacart+ until the end of August. I disabled auto-renew so my Instacart+ expired starting September 1. However, I got this offer a few days later and renewed it. My Chase card also had 10% off Instacart so it only ended up being ~$18 to renew it for a year. For me, it was a no brainer when combining it with the 20% off gift cards from Costco and doing pickup orders for another 5% back.

  • Now that I can order from Costco on Uber Eats, utilizing available promo's and Uber One savings, this is not all that valuable to me. If the CSP/CSR still offered an Instacart credit I would think otherwise.

      • Yes Instacart shoppers sometimes would chat to ask about a replacement or help finding something. I think you can initiate a chat too but never did that.

      • I've personally never had an UberEats grocery shopper contact me or respond to any message about products. They just... show up, and you hope you got what you wanted. Also, the process for selecting replacements on the site is nuts; it involves doing a search, scrolling, and confirming three times (if you only remember to confirm twice, your replacement pref isn't attached). Also, it doesn't remember replacements from order to order, so you have to go through this with every item, every time. Also, the "suggested tip" usually comes out to 20% or more (which it doesn't adjust as the final price of the order changes), vs 8-11% on Instacart (which does adjust based on store-induced order changes).

Also, it's easy to get unlimited 20% Instacart GCs, whereas 20-off UberEats GCs are usually velocity-limited.

Basically, when Uber has e.g. 40% off grocery orders, it can be worth it, but for me, it's generally a headache I don't need.
