Sadly the discount only applies to full price items, but could still be useful for purchasing items that never go on sale.

  • Not worth the efforts...Order placed but items were replaced by store despite choosing option do not replace while placing the order ( I did saw in store items I ordered were in stock ) so that removed coupon from order essentially making it useless. So cancelled the order with chat agent but no courtesy.

  • got this and placed a order yesterday. got email notification that order canceled. chatted the customer service, and they said they have 'system enhancement' yesterday and i m not the only cusotmer impacted by this.

    placed a new order for pickup tomorrow. hopefully this time it will work fine. anyone else also see issue like this?

  • so do you order online and go pick up online ? it is not clearly stated and i have never done online ordering

  • Every time, when I have an account-based $X off $Y coupon, it shows taken off at the first receipt, but it ends up not getting taken off on the final receipt. Check your final receipt (sent after the order is shopped) to make sure it was taken off. If not, chat with Safeway and they have always manually refunded me the coupon.

    After clipping the coupon, give it half an hour for it to actually be applied to your order.
    Applicable for discount items and can be stacked with other deals.

    • Just used this to place an order. Confirming any safeway club/just4u discounts still apply towards the total. The Safeway membership discount line gets pretty wonky and will show some random values, so just make sure post club-discount subtotal is $75 and you should get the $40 off.
