I don't get Uber. I've used them for over 5 years and I have been stuck at 4.8 the whole time. I always tip; even crap rides get at least $1 or $2. I should be a 5. I am always quiet and pleasant if spoken to. I think the rating is a bit of a scam.
Next time beg for a 5-star rider review like some drivers do lol

Your rating is totally meaningless. Uber lets drivers rate you because it gives drivers the illusion of control and autonomy in a shitty gig-economy job. Privacy rules force Uber to disclose your rating to you.
Drivers could be rating you anything for any reason including fat-fingering the touchscreen.
For the drivers the rating means everything to them because they can lose their job or face penalties with a sever scores.
I don't know that depending on the whims of random strangers can really be classified as a "scam"

Now that I got rid of my amex cards this really does not hold much value without the credits. Maybe they should bundle a streaming service with it.
With the upcharging on UberEats, this doesn't hold much value with just the Gold credit either.

I really hope Discover will soon offer free Uber One when it's acquired by Cap One.
Nothing on my account, but I already have free Uber One through Capital One.

Savor and SavorOne both include an UberOne subscription reimbursement ($9.99/month) to the card through November 14, 2024. UberOne nets you 6% back on each ride as an Uber credit.
Additionally, both of those cards give 10% cash back on Uber Rides and Uber Eats charges (also through midNovember).
