Our Verdict
Offers frequently come around for Wall Street Journal subscriptions, usually you only pay $1 for a two month trial. This is an extra $11 and you get more miles than you normally would and the trial itself is longer (here’s a recent example of the $1 deal). Just keep in mind you need to cancel within the twelve week period, but after the first 45 days to keep the miles and not be billed at the standard rates. I’m pretty sure you can cancel online somehow now, but I’ve forgotten how to actually do it. Hopefully a helpful reader will help me out in the comments.
Can you do both this WSJ promo as well as the Barron’s promo? I.E. are they considered the same promo where doing one disqualifies for the other?
In the past I did both, but don’t recall the details. Had to hackle them to track correctly, though. To be safe, might want to have separate user profiles and make sure any ad blocker is off
These things have never tracked for me. Will be avoiding them.
Did WSJ on UA portal last year. Didnt track. UA credited me 2k miles after 3 emails.
Did Barrons on AS portal ~6 months ago. Didnt track again. Didnt bother emailing.
$2 and 1.5 hours of work (calling in to cancel 2x and 3 emails) for 2k UA miles wasnt worth it for me.
I have done this before and not even sure if I got the miles. I wanna know if i can do again and see. The cancellation had to be thru a phone call that was really too silly and long. They try hard to keep u a subscriber.
Barron’s is also available for the same amount of miles (at least, in the Barclays portal – 2300 Barclay miles each) and only costs $1 for 8 weeks! If you have the Barclays Arrival Premier, each award can be transferred as 1650 miles to one of the partners (or 1350 to JAL/Aeroplan).
I just did this WSJ promo with United back in April. Can I do it again this soon?
Not sure if they are churnable, hopefully another reader can answer
just get a new user profile, then it will be fine.
> I’m pretty sure you can cancel online somehow now
Only California residents have this option unfortunately (enabled due to a law there, and WSJ chose not to make that available for others, because they enjoy our little chats)
Ah makes sense, I thought somebody mentioned an e-mail account that worked.
Just signed up for it. If you’re a CA resident you can go to manage my account and cancel online. It is quite easy actually.
I think it was mentioned for Barron’s
Also makes sense
Glamor Rewards has $25 cashback for the same deal. So $13 money maker?
Can you stack those two?
