3/28/18: Deal is back available now after having ended early (ht: sd). Also added the direct link below.
The Offer
Use the Google Assistant app or Google Home to easily get a $15 off $15 credit at Target.
- Google Assistant users say, “spring into Target” and it’ll give you a $15 off $15 promo code in your Google Express account at checkout. If you don’t have Google Assistant app, you can download it for free on iOS or Android.
- Google Home users say, “Hey Google, spring into Target” and it’ll give you a $15 off $15 promo code in your Google Express account at checkout.
The Fine Print
- Promo code expires April 21, 2018
- Limited to one offer per account
- Only Target items on Google Express are eligible for the discount
- The $15 discount must be used on a single order – the remaining balance doesn’t carry over
Our Verdict
Worked for me without a hitch on iPhone. Some people are having issues getting it to work on various devices.
Get free shipping on orders $35+. Best option here is either to order $35 of stuff for $20 shipped or to order $15 of stuff and pay the $4.99 shipping fee. A lot of people like using Google Express for heavy or bulky items like soft drinks or paper towels.
If you’re new to Google Express you can get a new user promo code. My friend’s referral code Z294732W4 (signup link) gets you $10 off $10 for your first order. Or use SHOP2018 for 20% off first order, max $20. Note, you can only use one promo code per order, so the $15 off promo code won’t stack with a new user bonus or any other promo code.
Hat tip to SD
I just tried it on Google Assistant and it says “I’m sorry, the promotion you’re trying to unlock has ended.” 😕
I’ll update as expired, thanks
Says promotion has already ended..
same here, even though the google page says its good until april 21. darn it
Ok Google….Promo has ended.
As long as you added it to your Google account before it ended it still works.
I have the Target Mastercard, which usually gives me free shipping from Target, but this google app will not recognize that it is a Target card, and wants to charge me for the shipping. They need to get it together if they want to appeal to regular Target customers.
Worked for me on some grocery items from Target. Downloaded the Google Assistant app and followed the “Spring into Target” directions from above. Easy savings.
This a rip off deal. You will save more with buying directly on target.com as they always have deals, gift cards on purchases and S&Ss. Google express won’t give you the deals target.com has. I did the math you waste money with $15 off goggle express target vs buying directly on target.com
depends on what you’re buying. you can always buy electronics or something that never has GC bonus offers.
There are plenty 20% off coupons around that you can use to mitigate that.
It’s not a rip-off. But, you are paying for speed and convenience. I used the promo this weekend for $35 of some bulky items and stock-up on household cleaning/personal care stuff… but I probably didn’t save much overall. I lost the ability to use real coupons I had, Ibotta, and didn’t get my 6% Amex BCP reward I would have got at my “grocery” store. Not a big deal, either way.
These promo’s aren’t any different than Amazon and “dash buttons”… they want you to get used to ordering everything by voice, online, or by pure magic. Conditioning for the masses – teaching a dog new tricks… Keeps the UPS and FedEx guy busy, for sure.
DP: This “working again” isn’t working for me. My Google Home mini says I already used the promo on my recent order. When I go to my cart, only showing 20% off coupons. Not worth it for me at 20% off ($7 off $35).
My mistake… “working again” I thought meant we could double dip… oops.
Looks like a deal to me. Four items for same as in store prices.
$13.76 of items plusTax $1.42 Subtotal $15.18 Service fees $4.99 Coupon credits $15.00 Order total $5.17.
That’s probably where the sweetest spot is.. order just enough to trigger the coupon. Somehow I was blinded by the word fee; by avoiding the shipping fee and adding more products, you are lowering the percentage of real deal. Ultimately I guess it largely depends what you buy.
thanks!
It worked! just follow the prompts in Google Assistant. voice search any time and then click the lick to be transferred to google exp app. the promo code is automatically visible in card. Thanks!!
Do you have to voice search an item? When I did it a couple of weeks ago that wasn’t necessary.
I just wanted to make sure the promo applied by following the prompts. didnt see a coupon code immediately show up in google assistant so i just followed the directions. i think once you’re transferred to google express app…the code will show up for any item you search and buy.
I just tried on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8, and Google’s verbal response was, “I’m sorry. The promotion you’re trying to unlock has ended.”
“I’m Sorry, the promotion your’e trying to unlock has ended”
+1, getting same result
I got the same sorry promotion your trying to unlock has ended
Thanks! Good tip on doing the $10 off first. Please keep these great posts coming 🙂
