Staples/Visa have suspended this promotion. It’s expected to become live again tomorrow. This time excluding gift card purchases.
The Offer
- Get $25 off your order of $100 or more when you pay with Visa check out.
- This offer will not appear until you get to the check out screen. There will then be an option to Pay With Visa Check out. Select this option and you should see mention of the promotion. Clicking the direct link should also show you the promotion, but keep in mind this might mess up using a shopping portal.

Our Verdict
Originally this deal did not exclude gift card purchases, after the flood of orders Staples/Visa have suspended this promotion. It’s expected to become live again tomorrow. When you add in all of your discounts you’ll be receiving up to 36% off any staples.com purchase (25% from this promotion, 5% from shopping portal, 5% from credit card, 1% from Visa Savings Edge).
Obviously the deal was much better when gift cards were not excluded, but you should still be able to find something on Staples that you need/can resell. It’ll also be interesting to see if the promotion excludes all gift cards (most likely) or just Staples gift cards and Visa gift cards. We’ll try to let you know on twitter when the deal is live again.
It’ll also be interesting to see if Visa is thinking about trying to compete with AmEx offers and offer something similar through their check out product, or if this was just a promotion aimed at getting more people to have stored cards with that service (most likely the latter).

Yesterday, at the top, you indicated you understood this deal would become live again tomorrow (i.e. today)…. Not seeing it. The visa gc’s are “back in stock” — but no $25 promotion that I can see, with or w/o gc’s. Please update/correct.
Done.
There was a commentator on the DansDeals blog that said s/he was able to get a Amex credit in addition to the $25 off.
