The Offer
- Coinbase is offering $10 in Basic Attention Token (BAT) a type of cryptocurrency for watching four short videos (should be 11 minutes total)
Our Verdict
BAT is actually kind of cool and we have discussed it on the site before. There is a browser call Brave, this has in built ad blocker but one thing I like is that you can set up a monthly subscription to websites/youtube channels you want to support, we discuss this in more depth here and you pay these sites using BAT. For example you might set to contribute $1 monthly split between 10 sites you love and each month those sites would receive $0.1 (minus the fees from Brave).
Personally I don’t care if people use adblocker on this site or not, I think people that do use adblocker are more likely to be tech savvy and share the blog with friends/family and let’s face it sometimes ads are just annoying. I do think this is a cool way to contribute to sites you enjoy without feeling guilty about using an adblocker. Obviously BAT can be used for other things as well, maybe you will learn about that in the videos. Also $10 is $10.

Hey. Very nice to be. I think this is a great browser. Now there are a lot of browsers, but not all of them are good. Thus, in terms of speed and privacy, Brave is superior to Chrome. In addition, switching to a new browser may finally push you to use a normal password manager. This is almost a victory, if not for one thing – a number of sites perceive Brave users as bots. Most likely, this is due to the Brave tracker blocker function, however, users of the new browser are faced with many visual CAPTCHA and other additional security checks that are not found when using Chrome. One way or another, which browser to use, everyone decides for himself. Good luck
Thanks. Easy $10!
Haven’t received an email even after a couple days, anyone have DP’s to support/contradict me?
Same here. Signed up on the day of this post – I still get ”you’re on the list” message when I tried to do it today…
Thanks Will. Downloaded the browser too and will support your site and other content providers I appreciate!
Thanks, Mark!
Brave is also an amazing browser. I’ve replaced chrome with it.
This site is on my monthly contribution list.
Brave also sometimes has free BAT that you can give away to websites (like yours).

This is just a meta-reply to various people having trouble getting this deal.
A. I clicked on “Join Waitlist”, and received an e-mail <12 hrs to start earning, so I don't believe it's that targeted.
B. The answers are:
– 1. Too many ads
– 2. Free open-sourced web browser for privacy
– 3. Users earn BAT by watching opt-in ads
After completing all four lessons (answer 3 quizzes + verify download of Brave), I received $10 worth of BAT in my Coinbase account.
To chime in with other posters – I've used Brave for a month so far. It's been awesome.
I haven’t received an email yet, after about 22 hours. Though, I did get an email for their previous giveaway of a scamcoin which I don’t even remember the name of.
I’ve been with Coinbase for over a year. I signed up on the waitlist over a day ago and still haven’t received an invite. Same with a friend. It’s quite targeted.
Same here I too clicked on join waitlist and received email within few hours and now I have 10 BAT in my coinbase account,There was also a promo for $3 Zrx -same thing join waitlist- watch 3 videos and got $3 worth of ZRX
Where are you from?
This is targeted. You have to sign up for the waitlist if you’re not targeted.
+1 on “people that do use adblocker are more likely to be tech savvy and share the blog with friends/family”
Just curious, does affiliate link tracking take a hit if people keep adblocker active on your website and deactivated on destination website (say Amazon)?
Generally affiliate links use a referral code that is part of the text in the URL you click on. Adblockers generally do not affect that.
There is a usually an intermediate link that the browser processes when you click on a referral link. For example, I clicked on DoC’s referral link to Raise.com and uBlock gave me this message:
uBlock Origin has prevented the following page from loading:
https://track.flexlinkspro.com/a.ashx?foid=1052487.2030752&foc=1&fot=9999&fos=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.raise.com%2Fshop%2FCHEERS%3F
DoC provides a great service for free so I clicked Disable blocking for this site and was able to proceed.
Got it. Thanks. I have noticed that but curious then why cashback websites like Swagbucks caution us to switch of adblockers for the deal to track?
I turn off my uBlock when I do cash-back sites as I don’t want to risk it. Sometimes these are tracked through ad companies in order to pay the commission – just not worth the risk.
DEAD? There is nothing on the landing page now about earning $10.00 in BAT.
I am a Chrome curmudgeon, will stick with Patreon for this kind of thing.
Brave is based on the open source form of chrome called chromium.
