Our Verdict
These test drive offers are usually worth doing as long as there is a dealership which is close by, if you don’t have one near you then I wouldn’t bother – especially when it’s only for $25. Typically when I go in they quickly realize I’m not interested in purchasing a car so they’ll activate the coupon code and send me on my way. It’s usually a good idea to get some type of confirmation that they have in fact activated your code before you leave.
There is a dealership near me so I will be completing this deal. I’ve added it to my list of how I’ve made money in 2015. There is also a similar deal from Kia at the moment which also offers $25. You can find more free money for test driving car offers here.
I’m also not a big fan of Nissan because of the way they’ve handled the whole Nissan computers thing, so I’ll happily take $25 from them any day of the week.
I got 2 codes from something like 10 tries. Chrome incognito mode.
After three tries using different nearby zip codes and car makes, I got the nissan promo to show up. Used a Nissan make and the zip closest to nearby dealer.
Once I arrived at the dealership however, nobody knew about the promo. They did not know how to activate the code. Called KBB and they were closed for the day. An hour wasted.
Ouch! Seems like the best bet is to call the dealership in advance. Thanks for the tip about using a zip code closest to the dealership.
Is this as easy as doing the Kia offer (wink, wink) ?
I was about to ask the same question, whether we could “validate” this online.
P.S. Doc, two questions unrelated to the topic:
1) Is there a way to stay logged in to your blog? I’ve visited it regularly for the past couple of months (thx for the great and organized posts) and want to comment now as well.
2) Is a Craigslist post link allowed in the “Website” field of the comments by any chance? Mine is MS-related.
1. Your browser should save the information so you don’t have to keep entering it.
2. No, it wouldn’t be allowed (presuming it’s Redbird cards). I don’t want to encourage that type of reselling.
Doc, I’m impressed with your psychic abilities!

Thx for the reply.
Don’t think so because the dealer needs to validate it in store.
Did the steps you mentioned, I always get the “$500 back on a new Nissan Rogue” offer… maybe it depends on zip code?
Did some testing with random zip codes.. I think it is targeted depending on zip codes, not all dealerships are participating in it..
That makes more sense than being based on car model. If you get it to work, list the zip code I guess?
Yes, I did. That was after getting the value.
Odd, maybe try incognito mode? It’s still showing fine on my computer…
I clicked on “Price a New Car” and I got an offer to get $500 back on a new Nissan Rogue
You should be clicking “Check my cars value”
I’ve tried Audi, Toyota & Acura. First two times banner ad was for same make, for the Acura it was a Buick ad.
Still no Nissan offer.
It’s not working for me
What car model did you try? What zip code? I tested it three times with random cars (all 2014 models) and it worked every time.
