Our Verdict
10% back at grocery stores and gas stations is great. It should work based on whatever Visa codes as Grocery or Gas; you can check the Visa Supplier Locator for specific locations. Max this out with a $400 in purchases.
Similar offer was around in June; though that one was for 15% back. I believe last month’s offer was able to be used across multiple shopping trips, this one should be the same.

Anybody finding that it’s taking longer for the bonus rewards to post? Last month it took 3 days and now I’m waiting a week with the same merchant.
Same here. My first two gas purchases bonuses with this round posted after like 2-3 days, so I thought no issues at all at first. My most recent gas purchases bonuses haven’t posted yet though and it’s been like 4 days.
Seems to be taking 5 to 6 days now but for me they have all been posting
Has anyone successfully used this if it shows up and can be activated under Wells Fargo Rewards (100+ offers) but there’s no indication on the card itself (just 2 “Deals”)? I’ve been transferred 6 times between customer service departments, all of whom claim to have no idea what the offer is or that it’s someone else’s area.
You should be good. The previous offers work exactly like you describe. It shows under Go Far Rewards not under the card deals.
The gas bonus also works for Tesla Superchargers.
Did it trigger the bonus immediately for you? Still waiting after my supercharger fee posted.
The offer is “earn 15 Bonus Pts/$1 on multiple purchases at gas stations, up to maximum rewards of 500 Bonus Points per transaction, and earn 15 Bonus Pts/$1 on multiple purchases of air travel, up to maximum rewards of 6500 Bonus Points per transaction. ” That is not the same as max $5/$65 purchase.
Any data points for how to cash the airline credit without flying? Has anyone tested luck with buying gift cards from airlines and having that work?
Gift cards from AA may work… that’s a common use for BoA PR card holders to use to trigger the $100 travel incidental reimbursement. Be the DP :)?
gc yes works…
These Wells Fargo offers of late have been incredible. I gotta be nearing $550 from them so far thus year
I’d like to get even one. Ugh.
Ben what’s funny is the only reason I have this card is because the dickheads signed me up for it without my permission almost a decade ago. I’m getting my revenge now!
“Earn 15 Bonus Pts/$1 on multiple purchases of gas (up to maximum rewards of 500 Bonus Points per transaction) and air travel (up to maximum rewards of 6500 Bonus Points per transaction)”
Wouldn’t that mean $33 of gas per transaction and $433 of airfare?
The $5 cap per transaction kills it for me. Maybe this will be a backup if I hit the monthly cap on the JetBlue Plus 5X promo. Works out to about the same value
It’s 5$ on gas but 65$ back on air travel
Savings aren’t worth the increased risk of having 0 protections IMO
Minor inconvenience for me to save an extra $10 (vs 5% card). My tank takes over $100 these days so I do $33 transactions, one after the other.
This offer is good for almost a month so I’ll save at least $30, likely more. I’ll take every penny of gas savings I can these days.
Yep. Got close to $50 back on gas for the wife and I last round. Minor inconvenience to just stop the pump at $33, and the restart on a new fillup
If I didn’t have a line 8 cars long behind me at Sam’s, I might consider it. I usually save 5-10% anyway just going to Sam’s, so credit card rewards are just extra icing
I go to Sam’s and it takes less than 30 seconds to put the nozzle back, end transaction, then scan the QR with (card already loaded) and initiate the second one.
That said, I understand it’s not for everyone, especially if you’re already getting 10% elsewhere.
I don’t use Scan & Go. I have to physically swipe my card if I want my station to code correctly as gas. Those transactions take longer for the system to process. I’d also have to do 3 separate transactions to fill up my car. After spending 15-20 minutes in line, the last thing I want to do is spend extra time at the pump when I don’t have to. I’m already getting 8.4% w/ my Custom Cash and 5% off all Sam’s Club transactions via Citi offers. The difference between this offer and what I’m doing now is only 2.6%.
If people want to spend the extra time for the savings, more power to them. Definitely not worth my time though
Interesting that some fuel stations don’t code correctly. I agree it would be more of a pain in the butt to have to physically keep swiping.
Curious, how are you getting 8.4% with your Citi Custom Cash? Are you using your own CPP value re: travel redemption? What I can tell it’s 5% Citi CC + 5% Citi offer, which is 10% (5% and not 2.6%).
I didn’t know about the 5% Citi offers though, thanks for that.
My fuel baseline is 4% with my Costco Citi card so this is a +11% boost. In your shoes I probably wouldn’t bother with 2.6% difference unless I had a long commute with a gas guzzler.
Did not receive any Wells Fargo rewards offer to be activated in the Earn More Mall since March/April in both P1 and P2 accounts.
Incidentally, there is not even a single Amex Offer showing in the Wells Fargo deals page of my Propel account. This page used to have ~100 Amex Offers until a few months ago.
Thanks!
