- Happy Guy Excluded
Our Verdict
Not as attractive now that gift card purchases with happy gift cards are now excluded. Although that isn’t really being enforced currently, so might be worth the risk for some people. Make sure to use a card that earns at a high rate on office supply store purchases.
Hat tip to GC Galore
Yeah this is still not working as of 7/10 at 11 a.m. Eastern Time. The promo card does not ring up as free. I’ve tried store managers at two different stores. Spent 25 minutes both times. The first time the manager ended up giving it to me for free. The second time I had to catch a train so the transaction never finished.
Still not working as of evening of 7/10. Promo requires use of specific staples gift card that has “high five” and 5 red paper clips on packaging. With correct staples gc, discount is taken off but $10 staples gift card is not activated. Manager rang up $10 staples gc at no cost to me
Thanks for the great comment
tried today. $25×2+$10staples GC, promo does not work. Register does not take $10 off. Manager said he cannot override GC transaction.
We’re you trying to get ten off of the total fifty hg gc purchase?
Register did not take $10 off yesterday. Manager rang up $10 Staples card separately at no cost to me.
Sexism!
Happy Guy gets discriminated. Not good.
6/29 Purchased $100 Happy Guy card from happycards.com using Amex Card w/ promo
7/5 Successfully purchased $100 eBay cards using Happy Guy Card.
Today is the last day to use Amex card to buy happy gift cards online.
Interesting that Happy Guy is excluded. That is my favorite because its the best way to get discounts on Home Depot cards. (When the Happy card is discounted.) I wonder if this will become a thing (to exclude the Happy Guy from promotions).
Happy Guy was excluded in a different promotion at a different store too. Seems like this is the new norm now. Anyone have experience with Happy Lady at BB&B?
I’ve had no issues in the past using Happy Lady at BB&B to buy third party gift cards and though I was successful today, the cashier insisted on seeing the card and reading it. First time that happened to me. Luckily it was my last one.
Wonder if these have the new “no gift cards” language on them.
Staples only sells $25 happy gift cards in store, so you have to buy two $25 happy gift cards and you will get the $10 staples gift card.
These are as low as 15 or 25?
