Our Verdict

Not as good as the four night + 20k point deal we recently saw. That being said you should never accept the first offer anyway, call the number listed and usually you can get a better offer (just uhm and ahh about the current deal or say you’re interested but your partner doesn’t think it’s worth it). Also don’t attend these presentations if you’re easily convinced.

When I called, they offered 5 days / 4 nights for $199 + 25K points right away, plus an extra 10K points if you complete the stay before Aug 31.

How often can you take advantage of these offers?

I’ve just negotiated $200 rebate + $20 visa gift card (not sure) + 15k points. All that with 5days/4nights stay (which he said by himself right at the start of the conversation).
Also I was confirmed with stay at Boulevard on needed dates. Already booked it, so that was no lie.
That’s my first time experience, also I’ll be with a baby, so I hope we will have some fun at the sales event, lol.

You are going to need ALOT of luck with that baby with you. The sales pitch is a huge grind and will be longer than 2 hours….

I’m pretty sure, the baby will start crying, so the only option would be that my wife and baby will leave, and I’ll stay for the rest and have some fun from the situation. Hope so…

If one of you leaves, you’d forfeit the deal and have to pay the retail cost of the stay.

From my experience in the past, they will provide childcare. If you want the goodies, they will require you to use childcare (my experience)

Just relax at the presentation. I’ve done almost 20 of these (most Hawaii and Mexico, 5 on the mainland). Don’t argue with them, just mentally sleep. I just agree with their arguments, watch my watch and leave after the agreed time. They will attempt to use the personal information you provide to build a bond with the salesperson. Be “cold-hearted”. I have never bought anything, and if I like it, I can buy it in the aftermarket for a fraction of the price (never have)

The best deals, IMHO, were Mexico all inclusive. My kids aged out though. Bookvip.com for Mexico deals

I’d be leery.
I was offered one through IHG because I stayed at the Seafire Resort and Spa in the Cayman Islands. It’s amazing there.
They offered me a 4-day/3-night stay in Cocoa Beach, Florida. I had to pay $199 upfront but when I would attend the timeshare they’d give me back my $199.
When I went to reserve my hotel they said, “oh that one is booked up so we have a different one for you.” It was a 1 to 2-star motel inn type of place next to a truck stop. BUT, they said, “if you want to “upgrade” I can find you a room.”
Bait and Switch.
Oh five seconds ago the hotel I was sold wasn’t available but NOW it is available as long as I give you an additional $200?!
I complained and spoke to their manager so they offered to give me my money back. Just check out Holiday Inn Vacation Resorts Scams. Lots of shady things to report.
I’ll never do it again.

Questions for people who have done this:
1) Is the presentation one-on-one?
2) Do you get to pick what hotel you are in? Or do they put you in the worst available property?

1. Yes, one on one, they want to make it feel more personable so you resist saying “no”.
2. When you call to set up the reservation they will tell you what hotels are the options available.

It varies depending on availability. One year I was in Elara, another it was the HGV at the north end of the strip and last year was Trump.

I have never been to one of these presentations. How many people are usually in attendance? Ten? 100? Also, how many sales people are there? One?

It varies. Usually 10-20 victims. One sales person per couple. Then there’s one or two second level people who will try to turn a no into a yes.

How does it work after two hours and you get up to leave? You’ve met their requirements but what if they say something like “you have to stay till we are finished or you don’t get any benefits”? Just wondering who the authority would be, Hilton? States Attorney?

I attended one in Orlando a few months ago at Holiday Inn. Geez, I had 4 people coming trying to convince me. I am not easily convinced but all of that insistence made me regret for being there for a $149 deal. I left that place exhausted. Honestly, not worth my time and my piece of mind.
