@williamcharles, this bonus is active again to Oct 10 2020, though only at $100/$150 which admittedly isn’t that great. FYI they will automatically close your account if you have 60d of zero balance, and I didn’t get hit with any ETF (my account was closed after ~8mo that way)
@williamcharles got hit by their minimum balance fee- its $20. Just FYI 🙁
Thanks, added to post
DP
9/14 – Opened Account
Completed req’s using Amzn 10x and made small deposit
12/20 – Bonus Posted
I assume you got both parts of the bonus on 12/20? I’ve done a real DD and 10 debit card purchases but only got $75 out of $150 on 12/20.
yep both parts, and got paid same day. I’m not sure why yours was off. The way I did it was the 10x amzn right away as soon as the debit came in and the DD was real as well for about $50, then it was a waiting game, kept the $5k minimum the whole time, it didn’t dip below.
Second half of bonus still hadn’t posted by late Feb so I sent an SM and they replied a couple days later saying that if I indeed met the terms that the second half of the bonus would post in March. And true to their word, today my other $75 is showing as pending.
Update: they ARE Chex sensitive, before applying with them online a few weeks ago I was at 10/12. Was able to open in branch yesterday, and was specifically told my online application was flagged by ChexSystems for having opened so many accounts recently. They were very forthcoming and cordial about it, otherwise it went smoothly as they resumed my previous application. No mention of any early account termination fee or bonus forfeit in their terms. William Charles & Chuck ? 🙂
How many in the last 12/24 months
Previously 14/24.
CT Resident. Applied 9/14 and approved tentatively, because you can only fund through ACH (no debit / no credit card funding). In order for them to open your account, you have to verify trial deposits, once verified they will open your account.
hard pull?
+1
Good news. Looks to be soft. I haven’t gotten any notifications from CreditKarma or CreditSesame in the last couple of days.
They sent in the trial deposits today, and I was able to log on into online banking.
Thanks, updating post
Thanks for your reports. Have you been able to find out definitively if there is an early account termination fee or not? Also wondering if they are Chex sensitive, any thoughts on that based on number of accounts you’ve opened? Appreciate your help.
Definitely not ChexSensitive. I have 15+ inquiries in the last 12 months. Not sure about EATF.
Glad you were able to open one. I have less inquiries than you, got as far as the trial/test deposits to my account, but when attempting to verify them I kept getting error messages. Calling them, all they could tell me was “the online system is very strict, it doesn’t like my info for some reason” and that I should apply in branch. (Haven’t decided whether or not I’m willing to spend the business hours or Saturday morning doing so yet.) YMMV? :-/
I had some issues applying online, called and they said the formatting of my DL was an issue and that I should come in branch. I said ok sure no problem, hung up, then applied online again using my passport as ID instead and it worked no issues. Did not have to go in branch
Just to add to my DP since cjb had issues with Chex sensitivity, my account is still open as of now. This was my 31st new bank account in the last calendar year, although I estimate only about half of my accounts pulled Chex so probably about 15 inquiries on Chex in last year or so.
Do they pull Chex?
Not sure, but if they do they can’t be too sensitive. See this post: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/ct-only-union-savings-bank-150-250-checking-bonus/#comment-810914
