Marriott has launched a new card linked dining program called ‘Eat Around Town’, Marriott members can link credit and debit cards to their account and will earn bonus points when they dine at participating restaurants. The program runs on Rewards Network Dining, a popular network that most hotel and airlines use to power these types of programs. You can only have your card enrolled in one of these programs at a time (e.g you can’t have it enrolled with Marriott and United).
As a launch bonus Marriott is offering new users a bonus of 1,000 Marriott points when they spend $30 or more with a linked card within 30 days of signing up and leave an online review through the program. In addition all members will earn 8 points per $1 spent until 11/12, when the earning rate will be reduced to 4x points. Personally I don’t see this as competitive as you can earn 3x airline miles and 5x hotel points with other programs. I’d recommend reading our full post on these card linked programs for more information and alternatives.
Good to keep your marriott points alive!
eh, good for the 1000 bonus points and that is it.
Probably stack this with a BOA offer on 10/12 for 20% back on my bill plus 1000 points. Then switch back to earning southwest points.
At least it’s a start and it should get better as time goes on. Hilton and IHG have a program. Next up is Hyatt.
