The new cards issued by FNBO have now been launched, you can see our thoughts here.
Yesterday cardsandbottles noticed that the Best Western Rewards MasterCard from Barclaycard was no longer available for new sign ups. I wasn’t sure if this was temporary or if that particular relationship was over. I had the following exchange on Twitter:
@Drofcredit @AskBCUS Hi there, we’re in the process of switching to a new partner, but your Barclay card should work until April.

At the moment we don’t have much more information to share. It’s unclear whether existing Best Western Barclaycard cards will be product changed into the new Best Western card or if they will be changed into an existing Barclaycard product. This will be dependent on whether the new card issuer purchases the back book or not, which they typically do for hotel partners such as this. That being said, it doesn’t look like we will need to wait long to find out with that April deadline.
Fingers crossed that Best Western partners with one of the smaller card issuers, it’ll be disappointing if they partner with any of the big guys (Chase, American Express, Citi Bank of America, U.S Bank). For those who already have the card (or have had it in the past) this should be a chance to get the sign up bonus again as well.
It’d be great if they partnered with Chase/Amex and were a transfer partner at a rate that actually made sense. Would have to be 4:1 though.
