[Expired] [Targeted] PenFed Spending Bonuses: Earn $25/$50 For Spending $1,000+

Deal has ended, view more PenFed deals by clicking here.

The Offer

No direct link to offer, sent out via e-mail. ‘Subject line is ‘Kick the summer off with this special offer from PenFed!’

  • PenFed is offering some credit card customers a bonus of $25 or $50 when they spend $1,000 by June 15th, 2020

The Fine Print

  • In order to receive the $25 credit to your statement, you must spend at least $1000 or more during the promotion period using your PenFed Visa Card ending in xxx.
  • The statement credit will be applied to your account within 4 weeks after the end of the promotion period.
  • This offer is not transferable.
  • Limit one statement credit per cardholder.
  • Your account must remain open, have available credit, and be current (no minimum payment past due) to qualify.
  • Offer ends June 15th, 2020.

Our Verdict

Not the biggest bonuses, but it still works out to be an additional 2.5%/5% so worth doing if you don’t need the spend to help meet minimum spend requirements.

A bit offtopic, but how do you file a dispute about a transaction on the PenFed Pathfinder? I can’t find anywhere on the web site? Do I need to call to file a dispute?

I got the $25 credit for $1K spend offer and banged it out on the no fee Visa and MC GC offers from Staples. Card is also linked to Payce so earned additional $5 cashback credits.

where do you buy VGCs? I know that people buy GCs in real life, but I’m overseas at the moment.. it would be a option if I could buy VGCs online?

You can buy VGC anywhere, in person or online. I don’t know if any of them deliver international. I personally stick with in person to not draw suspicion of MS, prevent wait time, and less risk.

oh I read “VGC” as virtual gift card

but I guess you mean Visa gift cards

Correct, but they actually both serve the same purpose for MS, though a virtual gift card would be must more difficult to liquidate.

do you have any advice for best web sites to buy virtual Visa / Mastercards from?

I don’t have any experience buying the virtual ones. I only received them as gifts or compensation and they are a real PITA since the ones I got have quick expiration dates, inactivity fees, and don’t work in-person including mobile payment.

I’m confused.. I got the e-mail for $50… but when I click on the link to “learn more” it’s a page about digital wallets.. Apple Pay, etc. Which I’ve never used before. So we need to spend $1,000 with the PenFed card through one of these digital wallets to qualify or?

I was targeted for the $50! Sweet! Last month I was targeted for a REALLY sweet deal that was use my card 5 times and earn $25. Back-to-back months for me, that never happens. Just wish they’d launch the Pathfinders CC already.

My offer was spend $500, receive $25. I have found that PenFed usually targets these offers with different amounts depending on your spending habits.

I haven’t used the card much in the last year.

Ive noticed this as well, yet for some reason I always get the lowest offer even though I haven’t used the card this year, and I used to use it pretty often before. I am going to use it this time though since I have a $1,200 purchase that doesn’t fit into any category for my other cards, so this is still better than nothing!
