As it’s the beginning of a new month, I thought it worthwhile to review credit card benefits that renewed/began today or are ending this month:
Begins Now:
- Chase Adds Temporary Categories & Benefits To Sapphire Reserve, Preferred Cards (Gas, Streaming, Instacart) from July 1 through September 30

- Citi Dividend – Home Improvement, Streaming Services
- The regular $100 Dell credit on AmEx business Platinum card to be used from July 1 through December 31, plus an additional $100 Dell credit for the second half of 2020 ($200 total); here’s how to maximize that credit
- $50 Saks Fifth Avenue credit on the AmEx personal Platinum card to be used from July 1 through December 31; here’s how to maximize that
- Bank of America Cash Rewards category $2,500 quarterly limit renews now

Ending this month:
- AmEx Hilton Surpass and Aspire cards earn 12X Points at U.S. supermarkets through 7/31/20
- Amex Delta personal cards earn 4X miles at U.S. supermarkets through 7/31/20
- Amex Marriott Bonvoy and Bonvoy Brilliant cards earn 6X Marriott Bonvoy points at U.S. supermarkets on up to $7,500 in eligible purchases from May through July 2020.
I’m probably missing a bunch of things, let us know and I’ll add it in.
I was adding my Discover credit card to my PayPal account, but after registering my Discover Credit Card, the language confirming the registration, PayPal indicated it would be treated as a bank debit card. Not a credit card like my other credit cards. WHY? SNAFU. Makes me nervous of possible cash advance billing.
Hi, Chuck. To add to your “ending this month” category:
1) Hilton Surpass and Aspire Amex cards earn 12X Points at U.S. supermarkets through 7/31/20.
2) All Delta Amex cards earn 4X miles at U.S. supermarkets through 7/31/20.
3) Marrott Bonvoy Brilliant and regular Amex earn 6X Marriott Bonvoy points at U.S. supermarkets on up to $7,500 in eligible purchases from May through July 2020.
2 – Delta PERSONAL cards only
Added, thank you
Adding that bofa cash rewards card category rewards max resets each quarter as well! I imagine a lot of people hit their maxes.
Added, thanks
Right on time!
How/where does one enroll for the citi dividend categories? I can’t seem to find a link in the portal.
When I login to citi.com and click on the dividend card, I see a link in the middle of the page: “Earn 5% cash back at Home Improvement …”.
If that doesn’t work, try going to https://www.citi.com/credit-cards/credit-cards-citi/citi.action?ID=dividend-quarterly-offer
(then login, and in the menu select your dividend card; at one point this was the only method that worked for me, and it worked in Chrome but not Firefox)
The Chase grocery store bonus category specifically ended in June and is being replaced by the ones mentioned above, right?
Yes
Bonus grocery spend on Chase cards ended 6/30.
I really hope this site makes you guys enough money to be worth the trouble. Because I know running a site is a lot of trouble but this site is also daily required reading for me and I don’t want it to go away. You’re basically doing God’s work as far as I’m concerned – because of course God is a savvy consumer – so I really hope you don’t stop or it will make me very sad. You’re the true heirs to the FatWallet legacy!
Agreed. Thank you Chuck and William. Your site has been more important to me every morning than a cup of coffee. I view the site’s content as like going to class everyday to learn and often you or reader posts give me homework. That could be signing up for a bank bonus, writing to a company for free coupons, or organizing & strategy planning my 5/24 credit card apps. Thanks to you guys I have a healthier and happier financial life.
I hope so as well. It feels like things have been drying up with the pandemic. No fault of the people running the site, just that there aren’t as many great promotional offers available right now.
Absolutely. It’s a gem of a site
Thanks all ♥️

Ditto to all of the above. I can stop drinking coffee but can’t stop reading DoC!
Not God’s work, but, more precisely, Jesus’. Because…..Jesus saves.
Thanks for the kind words 🙂
Agreed! I gave the same compliment last month: the FW spirit lives on through DoC!
That’s honestly the highest praise I could ever receive. FatWallet Forum is such a legend in this game and without it this site wouldn’t exist
Time to do the Dell order/cancel dance all over again. YAY!
whats that
