The Offer
Direct link to offer (our affiliate link here and below)
- Amazon is offering $10 off $50 when you use at least one Discover point to pay.
This is separate from two previous Discover deals which are still working:
- Amazon: Get 20% Off When You Use 1 Discover Point ($50 Maximum Discount) – (Our Post)
- [YMMV] Amazon: Get $10 Off When You Use 1 Discover Point ($60/$80/$100 Spend) – (Our Post)
Remember you can just use one Discover point to trigger these deals. Here’s how to go about doing this deal:
- Link your Discover account to your Amazon account if you haven’t already
- Click to Activate this offer to your Amazon account here
- Add $50 or more of eligible products shipped and sold by Amazon to your shopping cart
- Proceed to checkout & select your Discover card as your payment method
- Select the amount of Discover Points you’d like to use for the purchase (must use points for at least $.01 of the purchase)
- Up to a $10 discount off $50 will be automatically applied at checkout; no promo code needed
The Fine Print
- Ends at 11:59 PT on 9/30/2020.
- Offer is available by invitation only, is non-transferable, is not redeemable for cash, and may not be resold.
- Offer applies only to the purchase of at least $100 of eligible products, where Cashback Bonus is used for at least a portion of the purchase and the promotion is activated and applied at checkout.
- Offer only applies to products sold by Amazon.com or Amazon.com Services LLC (look for “sold by Amazon.com” or “sold by Amazon.com Services LLC ” on the product detail page). Products sold by third-party sellers or other Amazon entities will not qualify for this offer, even if “fulfilled by Amazon.com” or “Prime Eligible”.
- Offer does not apply to purchase of digital content.
- Maximum benefit you may receive from this offer is $10. Limit one promotion discount per Cashback Bonus eligible card. Limit one promotion discount per Amazon.com account.
- Offer may not be combined with other offers.
- Shipping charges may apply to discounted promotional items.
- If any of the products related to your original order are returned, subject to Amazon’s refund policy, you will receive a refund of the amount charged to your card first, followed by Cashback Bonus.
- Offer discount will be allocated proportionally among all promotional items in your original order. If any of the items in your original order are subsequently returned, your refund will equal the original price of the product, less the proportional amount of the discount. The total discount on the unreturned amount of your original order will then be less than $10.
- Promotional codes (including those placed directly in accounts) may not be redeemed for Amazon Gift Cards.
- This promotion is available only to Amazon.com customers with a Cashback Bonus card issued in United States.
- Promotional discount is applied before taxes and fees.
- If you violate any of these terms, the offer will be invalid.
Our Verdict
Seems like most people are not eligible for this one, but it is working for some. This deal should work on third party gift cards, but will not work on Amazon branded gift cards unfortunately. Remember that this works when using a single Discover point, cashing out more than one Amazon point is generally not a good idea as the redemption value is so low. If you get a ‘not eligible’ message, you can try following this method.

Chuck,
I just went through this link and received a 30% off a $100+ purchase. I purchased an Albertsons gc, applied $.01 of Discover Rewards and got $30 off.
I realized after my purchase that the link in this post is the same link that you have in this post: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/amazon-get-30-off-150-on-amazon-when-using-1-discover-point/
While using my Amazon account, I got a banner for $10 off $100 with redemption of Discover points. Valid through 9/30 or when $300,000 of discounts are redeemed.
Same link?
Looks like it’s a different link:

Ah yeah, got that one here: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/ymmv-amazon-get-10-off-when-you-use-1-discover-point-60-80-100-spend/
Worked on a whole foods gift card for me.
I noticed Amazon has been getting consistent with their NOT ELIGIBLE page. They are no longer blank, or have different formatting/verbiage. The page looks nice and clean.
Another one I’m not eligible for
It says 10 off 50 and 10 off 100 which is it?
Fixed now
Another promotion from Amazon:

Reenrolled my card weeks ago, still got the following today..
“Your Discover Card may not be linked with Shop with Points at Amazon.
Enroll now & you may be eligible for the offer on your next order when you use points at checkout*.”

Doesn’t it always say that when you’re not targeted?
