Direct link to offer | Terms

  • Best Western is offering a $20 bonus card when you buy a $100 gift card.

Note: $100 Travel Cards have no expiry date; $20 Bonus Cards expire on November 15, 2021.

The Fine Print

  • Max $500 in purchases per person get the bonus
  • This is an online promotion only
  • No date shown for when this offer will end

Our Verdict

They’ve offered this deal multiple times before. Probably not worth considering unless you have a stay coming up and know that you’ll be able to use up the gift card. Keep in mind there might be other deals, such as Amex Offers, you’ll be missing out on by paying with a gift card.

This is back again, until 3/18/24. I just happened to check the balance of a card I had and saw this promo. https://www.bestwestern.com/en_US/offers/travel-card.html#bonus

For each $100 Best Western® gift card purchased, the purchaser will receive one (1) $20 bonus Best Western gift card. There is a limit of five (5) $20 bonus gift cards that each customer can earn during the Promotion Period (defined below). This promotion is only available for physical and digital (via email) gift card purchases made between March 8, 2024, and March 18, 2024, (“Promotion Period”) on bestwestern.com. This is an online promotion only and is offered solely to residents of the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. Other restrictions may apply. Offer not valid with any other promotion or discount. How does 1 pay with a bonus card? Not seeing any option at check out? Can multiple cards be used on 1 booking?

I bought two last time around but only received one $20 cert even though they show you the bonus certs in your cart. I contacted BW about it and they said they don’t manage this promo at all so I have to talk to Givex. Givex confirmed right away that I didn’t get it, and that I should have, and opened a support ticket for me. Despite this, it somehow took well over 2 months and multiple calls to issue me the other stinking $20 cert because they were always “still working on it.”

I only bit on this because I did have an upcoming stay for around $260 and figured why not save $40, but I didn’t get the second one in time for it. I suggest for anyone still wanting to do this, if you’re doing multiple certs then at least check out in separate transactions, rather than adding them to one cart as I did.

I did this last year with a $300 card and I successfully received 3x$20 bonus instantly. Did you buy a single $200 or 2x$100? I’m planning on doing this again in a couple weeks but don’t want to deal with the hassle you went through. I’d also not dealing with a ton of extra cards since the bonuses already come as extra cards as it is.

does this stack with amex offer?

Probably not, it takes you to a third party to process the gift card, so I don’t think it will code as a best western purchase.

Right, it codes as Givex, their gift card provider. Not as BW

The site seems to differentiate between E-Gift Cards and Gift Cards. I don’t see anything mentioning E-Gift Cards or whether they are included in the promo. Anyone know?

Whoops, scratch that. I had brought up the terms for an entirely different promo somehow. The terms for this one do say e-gift is supported.

Anyone know a place to sell these GCs?

You can post the gc to raise.com and get nearly face value. But after their fees, you’d net $165 from a $200 gc (and have a $40 bonus card left over). And no marketplace I know will accept the bonus card for resale since it expires.

$120 on electronic barcodes was enough to pay for 2 separate nights. Stacks nicely with FREE NITE voucher, after 2 separate stays. My voucher email just arrived.
