Our Verdict
We saw a recent deal from Discover recently as well. How useful this deal is will really depend on how competitive BP is priced in your area.

why my BPMe pump finder doesn’t seem to work? It showed location in Mexico instead of US. Am I missing something here?
My last credit posted 39 days after filling up.
Just be aware, the bonus associated with CITI offers will post at the end of the statement period.
This has not been my experience.
7/23/21: BPme
7/29/21: credit $10
12/14/21: BPme
12/20/21: credit $10
5/22/22: BPme
5/26/22: BPme
6/3/22: credit $10
6/3/22: credit $10
Same, they have not posted two statement cycles later. Still waiting on the credits, some from MAY. I called them and the foreign call center rep had no idea what Citi Offers were. Waste of time for $10.
According to the ~official~ email I received from Citi regarding “Merchant Offers” – the official verbiage is the following: “3. Earn statement credits automatically
Credits will show up on your statement in about two weeks”
I’m going to start complaining after the two weeks of finalized charges.
If you’re lucky, you’ll receive it before then, but for my latest offer, it shows as being redeemed but no money was “refunded” or added to my account… and it’s been about 2 weeks already LOL
These offers still haven’t posted for me. Three purchases on three cards over $20 each. Two of the credits are over a month overdue and the other has been about two weeks.
have you contacted them?
I seem to get these offers a lot, so I’ve done them many times. I usually try to purchase just over the minimum amount for the deal.
A few days ago, something strange happened that made me miss the deal. I was charged less than the total shown on the pump. Both the pump and the receipt showed:
• 4.334 gallons purchased
• $4.649/gallon
That should be $20.15 total. The pump did show the $20.15 total. The receipt showed:
• Fuel sale $20.15
• Subtotal: $19.93
• Total including tax: $19.93
My card was charged $19.93.
Not sure why I was charged less than the “fuel sale” amount. This works out to being a 5¢/gallon discount. But I’ve always gotten that discount and it was always reflected in the price shown on the pump and receipt (so there shouldn’t be a further discount on the “fuel sale” amount).
I also can’t tell whether the 5¢ discount was applied before the sale too (like if the sign price was $4.699/gal) because the electronic sign at the station was blank.
Not sure if this is a one time glitch or a change in procedure. It might be worth padding the purchase a little bit to avoid this problem in the future.
Happened to me too. The 5 cent per gallon discount provided by the app used to be applied at the pump (i.e. the posted per gallon price was lowered by 5 cents before pumping so the total purchase amount on the pump was accurate), but last week they changed something and the 5 cent discount was taken off after pumping so your actual total purchase will be less than what is shown on the pump. I also ended up with a gas purchase just under $20. I guess BP isn’t making enough money with >$5 gas so they need to trick some people out of their citi merchant offers to supplement their profits. Fortunately there was still enough time for me to redeem the offer before end of June.
My BPMe app is giving me error messages for the past month. I used it twice before with no issues but now it’s acting up. I checked my credit card statement when I was able to use the app and I see no mention of BPMe app in the transaction whatsoever so I wonder if we can just swipe the card registered with BPMe app and still get the credit? Anyone tried it before? If not, I’m gonna try it and report back.
If you look at the transaction details then it shows “Purchase Method Online” so they’ll know if you used the app — if you make the purchase in person then it’ll probably show “Purchase Method In-store”
Registering your card in the app is just for BP rewards purposes — that way you can get BP rewards when you swipe your card
Does the BPme app work for anyone? I always get an error message.
Some stations might give error if they have issue with their internet — otherwise if it happens at multiple stations then you might have to call BPme customer service to see if there’s some kind of fraud block on your account (might happen with new account or if you add a new card)
I had an existing Citi card on there and it worked fine in April — I added 2 more cards earlier this month and it gave an error when trying to use it right away (guessing some kind of fraud block)
Didn’t bother calling but waited 2 weeks then 2nd card worked fine — tried to do another transaction right after that with 3rd card but that gave error so I’ll wait a few weeks to use that last one.
Family member had existing BPme account and added their Citi card yesterday — used it today without issue
I only received one of the $10 credits. I made 2 transactions and only one got the credit. Called CS and they have no clue. Any pointers?
For me, it sometimes takes several weeks for the credit to post, even though at other times the credit posts more quickly. It’s inconsistent.
I’m not surprised the Citi rep had no clue. Between Citi and other issuers, I’ve always had reps either have no clue or give a wrong/made up reason why the deal didn’t work—and then ultimately the deal did come through on its own anyway.
So I guess my advice would be to wait 4 to 6 weeks before getting too concerned. I see it has been about that long for you now. Did the credit ever come through?
Made 2 purchases on 4/19 and 4/25 — $40.xx statement generated on 5/9
Got 2x $10 credits on 5/11 (with 5/9 date) — statement balance went down to $20.xx due
I got the two $10 credits today (backdated to 5/9 though) for purchases on 4/23 and 4/30.
