Our Verdict
Most readers will be on the promo pricing of $1.99 so you don’t want to sign up for this offer as you’ll lose that promo pricing. There is also an amex offer for $7 back when spending $14.99 and this won’t code as HBO max. Really just for people that want the seven day free trial. Will be interesting to see if this is still on offer when HBO start dropping movies next year like Dune.

I’m not sure why this is saying expired. I have a regular Hulu (no adds) subscription. I was able to add the 7-day free trial without a problem. I have not done a free trial before.

Make sure you watch WW84 before you cancel. When I attempted to cancel last year’s promo on Nov. 2, it prompted cancelation wouldn’t be effective until Nov. 29 so Hulu could refuse to give prorated refund of $1.99 billed on Oct. 29, however, I’d instead receive a 1 month free trial good thru Dec. 29 for not canceling. The 1 week HBO Max free trial applied to this $0 free trial account no problem. I then scheduled to cancel prior to my $5.99 + $14.99 billing dates, however Hulu cancels subscriptions effective immediately with no take backs (since there’s no prorating due for $0 plans). I got in a couple hours of Kaley Cuoco, but totally missed out on Gal Gadot.
WW84 isn’t on Hulu even with HBO Max.

When my son signed up on Dec 25 around 1 PM ET, WW84 wasn’t available through HBO Max on Hulu. He ended up using a torrent over a VPN.
