received $200 bonus after messaging per below comments.
are others leaving the account open for a bit or just closing? I don’t recall an ETF on this one.
There was no ETF language in the offer details and I don’t recall seeing one in their terms either. I requested closure via secure message shortly after receiving the bonus and there was no fee. Once the accounts (checking and share savings) are closed, you will lose access to even read the secure message after logging in since a pop-up message will inform you that you have no accounts.
There is a $5 ETF if the account is closed within first 6 months: https://www.fourpointsfcu.org/getmedia/f1d29f13-568c-453e-8821-7c7ff8b5a43e/Truth-in-Savings-and-Fee-Schedule-7-7-21.pdf. Whether it is enforced or not is another thing. Scott Lefty

Based on the comments below, I sent a message to inquire about the bonus. I had real DD over $1000 and completed all requirements including 15 debit card purchases. I did mostly Amazon reloads and no in-store purchases. They didn’t attempt to deny the bonus based on this and they manually posted the bonus when they responded to my message. Thankful I didn’t have to escalate to CFPB or respond about POS purchase including online merchants.
5/18 – Account Opened
10/13 – Sent Message Day 148
10/14 – Bonus Received (Prior to Day 150)
Received $200 Bonus for P2 after sending similar message as P1 inquiring about status of payment. It seems they’re not proactively monitoring on their end to apply the promotion to accounts which is a little more hassle to deal with but didn’t face any resistance from customer service regarding Amazon reloads. Used real DD for both P1 and P2.
Account opened in early June and still have not received bonus. I faked DD using Discover and used Amazon for reloads. Anyone with a similar situation who has got their bonus?
06/30 – Account Opened
07/10 – 09/05 – Real DDs from employer
08/25 – Google Pay Txs
10/08 – Called in to check about the bonus and was told that I would receive in a few days
10/08 – Bonus Received
P1:
6/1 – open
7/9 – $1005 employer dd
7/22 – 15 amazon reloads
7/23 – $1005 employer dd
No bonus to-date
P2:
6/7 – open
7/22 – 15 amazon reloads
7/23 – $1005 employer dd
8/6 – $1005 employer dd
9/10 – $200 bonus posted
Doesn’t make any sense why P2 got paid before P1 and/or hasn’t been paid at all
Interesting. Ask about P1 and let us know the response?
I mentioned that in my Secure Message. They replied that crediting P2 was an error but will leave it. Initially denied my request to credit it stating I did not meet the POS requirement of doing in person transactions. I replied stating that, that is the incorrect definition of what a POS transaction is (as it includes any financial transaction with a merchant; in person, onlines, etc) and believed the situation to be bait/switch and they credited it upon my message.
nice, i’m going to message tonight and escalate to CFPB if needed. that’s the initial response they gave me. thanks for DP.
Kyle did you get your bonus? I did Amazon reloads and haven’t received it at day 148. I sent a message to inquire on when I’ll be receiving the bonus. I’m prepared to respond back with the message above as well if necessary.
Wow, surprised reloads worked for P2. GL for P1
Opened June 15th
Met July 27th
Awarded Sep 24th
Never contacted at all, though I did go to Omaha to watch Mississippi State win the College World Series. Hail State!
What were your purchases? Amazon reloads?
Just “normal” small in-person transactions. No reloads.
What were your DD amounts? I did 2 of like $800 each and I assume since it says ‘totaling $1000’ it just meant had to have DDs overall totaling over $1k, thanks
2x $500.
Does anyone have a copy of the bonus terms and conditions? I think it will be necessary for a lot of us to file CFPB complaints.
Nevermind, reached out and petitioned my in-store purchases I made at the last minute and they said it counted. 200 bonus incoming.
Did they say when?
It posted the next day, on Sept 2. I would suggest reaching out for an account review as I did.
Just FYI – remember it is WITHIN 60 days AFTER the 90 days requirement meeting time period. Bonuses will not likely post until late October or early November if you opened in June.
I reached out after completing both amazon reloads and in person transactions at Wal-Mart buying dollar candies. But they stated I did not qualify. So what counts as POC is very selective apparently and lots of us probably did not qualify. Bad experience.
That sounds unlikely, the reloads I get, but in-store is by definition POS…
Apparently point-of-sale (POS) means in-person and using the PIN. Amazon reloads did not qualify. Bummer. Rep stated this through secure message and looks like terms do mention this, so no chance of CFPB.
Thank you for the info. I have 5 days left from when I opened to make it happen. Gonna try to fill up the car 15 times with half a gallon of gas.
Did the gas qualify? That is what I did and it has worked for all other banks/CUs
Why even ask them to verify the reloads, you are just asking for this kind of stuff to be excluded in future bonuses. It does not say that you need to do a PIN purchase and POS does not mean it has to be a cash register per the definition of what POS means.
Dude, chill. When the bonus doesn’t post, I have a right to ask the bank why the bonus didn’t post. I didn’t even ask about the transactions, I did my typical language of “I met all requirements and the bonus hasn’t posted yet. Please advise.” The rep brought up the transactions. As you can see below, everyone is wondering where the bonuses are. Sorry for providing new information.
I haven’t had a chance to respond back yet, but I was going to push back as POS from everything I’ve read online simply means the means of processing the transaction.
You do realize that even if you opened the account on the date this article was posted, it still hasn’t been 60 days since the 90 day period expired, right? So you asking before the period ends doesn’t do any good. You can’t confirm that amazon reloads don’t count unless it’s actually passed that period, you had legit DD, and your bonus hasn’t posted.
