readers pl note, the 10% cash back is ONLY on the fare this is calculated, in other words if south west fare from Miami to Las Vegas is $499 that will include taxes and crazy fees+surcharges you WILL NOT get 10% back on that, you may end of up getting 10% on $200 which Chase and Southwest calculate as NET airfare paid

Crazy right ? Well that is how banks and corp America cheats you

i’ve done this offer a couple of times with gift card purchases, it works as long as you’re buying the gc directly from southwest’s website

If I buy tickets for two persons with the same record locator, will they be billed as two separate transactions with different ticket numbers? I am wondering how strict the “ Offer valid one time only” language is applied. Would it only apply for one person?

if it’s the same transaction, should be ok (i can’t recall if buying tickets for multiple people results in multiple separate charges)- or if you buy a gift card, then apply the gc toward the ticket purchase, might be a safer way to go??

Crediting for this offer has been strange. I had this offer with 2/29 expiry date on my own and my spouse’s personal and business cards. I purchased several flights for later in the year that should qualify for the 5% cashback.

My spouse’s business card has received 2x credit on 3/11 and 3/18 for a single purchase. My personal card has received the expected credit on 3/11. My business and spouse’s personal cards have not received any credits.
