Our Verdict
Bonus is $50 more than it previously was, but does require a direct deposit now. Still worth doing if eligible and will add this to our list of the best checking account bonuses.

Account opened online.
By the next morning it was locked and was told had to go into a physical branch to get it active again…
Applied and received this message:
We were unable to verify your identity
We regret to inform you that we are unable to process your application this time. Watch your inbox for an email containing additional information on your application. If you have any questions please call: 1-800-551-5651 between 6:00AM and 10:00PM (Central Time) contact us.
I called and was told I’d have to go to a bank to verify my identify. I’m not close to a branch, so they had a banker call me. We played phone tag for 2.5 weeks and, when we finally connected she had me send copies of my driver’s license and social security card.
She replied back within 15 minutes that they couldn’t approve my application because I had 9 inquiries on my Chex report. lol
tl;dr if you received this message, you have too many new accounts
This $700 offer randomly showed up on my IG. I’m in TX.

The wording confused the hell outta me, but I’m thinking one of the fake DD’s must’ve worked since my two real ones are not more than 35 days apart? I’m not sure. Just glad I got it.
Like KC, I tried to figure…decipher this. Thought it was 2 DD a month across 2 months. Either way I got it.

Anyone have any luck with a fake DD? I see a lot of methods have already been tried.
I am currently trying T-Mobile money and Advia Credit Union to see if that works. Will report back if it works or not.
Thank you Kris, I have TMobile. Please let me know if it works!
account opened: 6/7 mobile deposit
$50.00 thank you bonus 6/9
real DD 6/24
real DD 7/8
real DD 7/22
$250.00 bonus 7/28
Got my $250 on 7/28 after real DD on 7/8 and 7/22.
I do not think Amex Bz or Fidelity worked for me. My timeline is similar to yours and I did not received the bonus.
Anyone have any success on what codes as Direct Deposit? I’ve seen that Ally and Wells Fargo dont code as DD.
What have you tried so far? Me and another commenter here are trying different banks. I have tired Ally, Well Fargo, Key bank and am waiting for a capital one 360 to posted so far.
I’m trying Serve. Will see how that codes.
Serve doesn’t appear to work. “SERVE ENTERPRISE EXCHANGE 9293106” no indication of DD or not, but my guess is no.
My real DD is posted as employer name + numbers
Hi Mali, do you mind sharing what was the transaction type coded as. For me, I tried Amex Bz payment feature and it coded as credit. I wonder if for legit direct deposits that changes or not. Thank you.
Where do you find it? I only see credit vs debit.
