Bank of America Amtrak Cards are no longer being displayed on the Bank of America or Amtrak website’s. Amtrak has been considering moving away from Bank of America, so I suspect this is part of that dispute.

William Charles As per the letter I received in the mail today, Amtrak card is going to FNBO effective 10/23/22. Same point earning structure as before, but they’re adding dining, transit and ride share to the 2x category. Annual fee is increasing to $99.

Sonesta card is also missing.
For many Amtrak is about as useless as is Comfort Inn points. As a retiree with time, we have taken Amtrak cross country in a roomette and soon to do again in a large family room, but just the two of us. These type rooms give you a much better, not great, choice of food. Certainly not business class on a plane, but they are decent. We just rode in coach from Miami going north for 14 hours and that will never happen again. When going cross country and in a roomette or better, it sure beats driving and a pretty good value. It just has to be something you want to do.
The roomette experience is great. Coach, ugh, forget it for long haul trains. But, I’m hoping for a newly rebranded Amtrak cc with a great bonus offer – I need all the points I can get for my roomette journeys.
Organized Crime!
So in Sep they gave me $150 and 50000 points, just to lose the agreement months later? Nuts.
This happens faster than Chase/Amazon break-up rumour… BofA will they at least honor the remaining of AF time?
What happens to existing cards? I see the Chase Amtrak was converted to Freedom…any guess/word on what BofA’s successor product will be? I also have a Cash Rewards…happy to have another if I can get 75% bump on both =)
On another note, my statement that cut yesterday on my MLB card says the program is ending and a mailing will be sent Jan 5 of new terms.
All affinity cash back cards except for Komen are gone from the website. BofA is settling all family business.
The American Chemical Society Customized Cash Rewards credit card seems to be going away, too. On the ACS website:
“The ACS Credit Card Program will be ending on March 31, 2022.”
As long as the BOA replacement remains a Visa, I don’t really care, but I will miss the geeky periodic table on the credit card.
Its application is still available through ACS but this is another one I don’t think BofA ever advertised. How many more of these are/were out there?
Got approved. Also interested in other co-branded cards
Found the list https://www.bankofamerica.com/content/pdf/en_us/Affinity_Banking_Programs_June_2018.pdf
.
I’m getting an error message that reads “This card application is unavailable.”
Direct link expires after some time… Try to google “University Of Arizona Alumni Cash Rewards” or “American Chemical Society Customized Cash Rewards”. You should find actual links for applications.
Started noticing this too Max – so I applied for a University Of Arizona Alumni Cash Rewards card last night before the college affinity cards start disappearing too
If I have standard cash reward card can I still open co-branded one and get bonus?
The BoA Amtrak card is absolutely worthless to most Americans, but has been a great deal for anyone who needs to use Amtrak. Imagine if an airline had a sign up bonus worth $1500 in tickets!
Most of that sign up bonus will go towards one round-trip roomette or bedroom….but, it’s certainly an interesting way to travel for a long-haul, cross-country journey.
Hopefully the new card will have an ultra premium version with some status like Select+
