Status Money Credit Card Coming Soon – 2% Cash Back & $200 Bonus (Crypto)

Status Money is launching a credit card soon, the card earns cash back or crypto on each purchase.

Card Details

  • No annual fee
  • $200 sign up bonus after $1,000 in spend within the first three months of account opening
  • Card earns 2% on all purchases

Our Verdict

Card itself seems a bit basic, most readers already have a 2% earning card. The $200 bonus is OK but not exceptional compared to other credit card bonuses.

Just got notice they’re shutting down and the rewards program ending effectively immediately:

“We hope this message finds you well. We’re writing to inform you of some significant changes to Status Money.

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing you with the tools you need to get ahead financially, we will be transitioning our member accounts, including yours, over to Quicken Simplifi. This move will take place on November 10th. Named “Best Budgeting App” by The New York Times Wirecutter, Quicken Simplifi can help you save money, see where your money is going, always know what you have left to spend, track your bills, and more.

What does this mean for you?

Starting on November 10th, you’ll be able to use your Status Money login credentials to access Quicken Simplifi, and the Status Money website and app will no longer be accessible. As part of your account transition, the personal information and data associated with your account will be transferred to Quicken. As the leader in PFM apps, you can rest assured Quicken takes privacy and security very seriously and adheres to industry best practices. You can find more details on Quicken Privacy Statement and the Quicken Simplifi Terms of use.

Please note that the Status Money rewards program is terminated effective immediately. We understand that this may be disappointing news, and we want to assure you that this decision was not made lightly. We deeply value the support and engagement of our members in this program.

What are your options?

We understand that you may have questions or concerns about this transition. Please be assured that we value the trust you place in us to help you make smarter financial decisions and to protect information we collect about you. If you prefer not to have your account transition to the Quicken Simplifi platform, you have the option to delete your Status Money account from your account settings screen prior to the transition date.

What’s next?

In the coming days, you’ll receive more information about the transition process and how you can get started with Quicken Simplifi. Simplifi offers a range of features such as personalized spending plans, real-time alerts, and customized savings goals to help you stay on top of your finances effectively. You’ll also get free phone and chat support to help you get set up and answer any questions you may have about the new system.

We’re confident that Quicken Simplifi will continue to provide you with excellent financial management tools. If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected].

Always on your side,
The Status Money Team”

Curious about the “1-on-1 financial advice” benefit. Seems like a pretty big perk to be able to meet a financial advisor monthly.

SoFi already has a credit card with the same exact perks….

Can you withdraw your crypto into your own wallet?

Nope, they hold them as custodian and charge fees/taxes “automatically” (in other words, they’re gonna screw you over). So just get the cashback and buy the crypto yourself, peeps

Can the bonus be paid out via statement credit?

It will come as cash rewards which can then be redeemed for statement credit.

I started their list signup and got questions about my home, what car I owned, etc. Seemed a little much for a credit card..,

Those saying it’s an easy pass keep in mind it’s only $1k spend which may work better for some people. If you’re lol/24 and want zero MS effort CC bonus it’s not that bad.

Any chance this is like cardless’s early entry with no reporting?
