Chase has made some changes to the Chase Marriott Boundless card and increased the sign up bonus.
- Card earns 3x points on gas stations, grocery stores and restaurants on up to $6,000 in combined purchases per year
- Card earns one Elite Night Credit per $5,000 in spend
- Sign up bonus of 100,000 points after $3,000 in spend
New sign up bonus isn’t attractive considering there was an offer of 125,000 points + free night certificate last year. The new earning rates aren’t that attractive either as other cards earn at much higher rates on gas, grocery and restaurants. Elite night bonus might be useful for those that are a night or two short.
The public offer is 125,000 points after $5,000 now (9/16/2024):
“ NEW CARDMEMBER OFFER
Earn 125,000 Bonus Points
after you spend $5,000 on purchases in your first 3 months from your account opening”
@chuck
So does 5/24 affect the Boundless Card?
Or it doesn’t fall under it anymore like SW, United, and Amazon?
100K Marriott points = 33K Amex, Chase, Hyatt, airline miles.
Hence, this is not a good offer. Would anyone jump on a 33K point offer from Chase, AmEx, Hyatt, or any of the other airlines? The answer is NO!!!!
Might be worth mentioning these are additions, not replacements for the current earn rate and elite nights.
Grocery on a Chase card is rather nice, but the rate’s worth less than 2%. Meh.
What about I book a local cat 4 hotel room for $100 for one elite night credit instead of spending $5000? This kinda incentive is really not well thought out (same goes for the Hyatt card).
100k points bonus should be good for a current cat 3 after March.
Marriott cards are garbage. 3X is really just 1X. Marriott points are like Hikton and IHG points. They are only worth a fraction of Chase, Hyatt, or AmEx points.
This is a lousy offer even with lower spend. They are devaluing these points by the day
Is this Chariot offer good then or what?
Having a benefit that you earn at each $5k, yet cutting bonus spend at $6k makes a whole lot of sense. Great job Bonvoy /s
