[YMMV] American Express Business Platinum 250,000 Point Offer

Update 7/19/24: Another link added, you can login to see if you’re targeted. Hat tip to DDG

Update 6/16/24: Another round of snailmail being sent out with this offer. (ht Will)

Update 3/10/24: This is showing up in incognito mode people again. Requires $15,000 in spend. Some people have got it to load by waiting for the offer to time out and then refreshing others have gotten it by just visiting directly from Google. There was an actual direct link available for a few days but didn’t post due to risk of shutdown. Should be fine if you can get it to show naturally.

Update 11/14/22: There is another direct link available, this time with an additional 10,000 authorized user bonus. I’d recommend reading the caution below before using this link.

Update 7/8/22: There is now a direct link to this offer. I’d exercise extreme caution using this link as American Express has been known to shut down accounts for using these types of links in the past. Hat tip to US Credit Card Guide

Update 6/20/22: FM reports that the calling in method that works for the American Express Business Gold 180k-190k offer also works for this offer (call 855-531-3491 and reject the first offer). Can also get an additional 10,000 points by adding an additional cardholder and spending $1,000+ on that card.

Our Verdict

855-531-3491 doesn’t work. Any Amex phone number to apply for this card (Platinum 250,000 Point Offer)? All the links are not showing up in incognito mode for me.

Interesting DP: I thought i was in pop up jail as all thru last few years i was denied with pop up. Today, i login to my BBP and saw if any offers are out there. Nothing in the offer page. So then proceeded to the Honeycomb menu and cards->view all biz cards. I saw the 250K offer showing. Terms did have the lifetime language. Wanted to still give a try and proceeded to application. Guess the gods have listened to my prayers and freed me from Amex pop up jail and voila- approved. Last Biz Plat card was back in 2020/21. Now only if that new card had the employee cards 15K offer show up (so far no luck).

Also FWIW, P2 has a Biz Plat for LLC open. Still, i see the same 250K offer show up using the above. Not going to apply as it is hard to spend 40k in 3 months

I currently have a business platinum (which I signed up for only 2 months ago on a 200k pts offer) and a blue business plus.

On the Blue Business Plus’ offers page, I have the “250k pts for $15k spend” offer, and there is no lifetime language.

Kind of bizarre that I would be targeted for a card that I already have, and only signed up for 2 months ago (and completed the spend requirement ~2 weeks ago).

Able to get to the offer page. Only option is to login with credentials to apply. When I login, it says the offer is no longer available. Am I missing something? Has this been pulled? Tried Chrome and Safari. Received snail mail for 175,000 for 15k spend, but this is obviously better.

I got the pop-up for the 250k offer for $15k spend while logged in to my online account. No lifetime language in the offer terms (I already have an Amex Biz Platinum for another line of business). Instant approval with temporary credentials provided – prepaid $15k for part of my quarterly taxes. Wahoo!

Hi Money Ninja. Have you tried paying taxes (prepaid) with Amex? Did it count towards eligible spend?

I got the 250k offer easily with a search on MS Edge. My problem is getting a pop up even if I never had the card before. They said because of my sign up activities, etc.

Does AMEX ever “claw back” points if you cancel after 1 year to avoid another annual fee?

i’ve heard that you have to cancel after the fee is imposed. do it within 30 days to get a credit for the annual fee after the fact

it’s a business card. you can always claim it as business expense

It isn’t like you can write off the fee from actual tax. It only reduces your taxable income which has negligible effect. Still something than nothing.

Was able to pull this offer in Chrome Incognito. 250k MR for 20k spend in 3 months. My major problem is how tf am I going to spend that much so quickly???? Normal CC spend in 3 months is 3k. Any ideas?

You cannot. Simple as that. Not every offer works for everyone.

What are you talking about “real business”? Are you saying my ebay business that sells one item a year, or my photogaphy business where i’ve never been paid to take a photo, or my collecting business where I just buy stuff I like aren’t “real businesses”?

Awesome. Some thoughts – nothing original here – you can pre-pay your rent and utilities, income or property taxes. You can also buy gift cards for stores you know you’ll use in next couple of months. Also you can offer to buy things for your friends and family and get reimbursed. Always be the one who puts down that platinum card when out for dinner with friends and get them to Venmo you back.

I got this mailer with an expiration of 10/01.

I’ve never had a Biz Plat before but am considering applying online because of LL and then later on applying via the mailer for the NLL.

Does the 90-day Amex rule apply to the Biz Plat?
Am I in the clear (as long as I’m not in pop up jail) with going for the online SUB first and then apply for the NLL mailer before 10/01?

(btw, what is “90-day Amex rule”? never heard of it)

if “90-day Amex rule” is about 2 credit cards per 90 days: not sure if “Pay over Time” counts as ‘credit card’, but i assume that turning that feature off would resolve that issue and make it definitely a charge card
