Might be worth it for some people. I’ve found Uber has just gotten progressively worse and worse.
Data Point – I tried to cancel today and they offered me 90% off if I renewed for 1 month. I did that and will check again after the month has passed
Did you call in? Or where did you try to cancel? Via website?
As of today, I was also able to reuse this offer despite having already used it on the exact same Uber and PayPal account in the past (last signed up in May 2022 for 6 months).
Now dead.
My 6 months PayPal promo just expired and was able to signup again from scratch for the six month promo.
Did they also give you the 25$ off the second time you applied ?
Even though my Uber One page showed “next payment 11/19 at $1.99” I was charged $9.99. Chat agent gave run around before just cancelling my account.
FFF. Same. I was shown that I would be charged 1.99 but I was actually charged 10$. I will chat and cancel.
Just dealt with this – bait and switch. Run around from the agent as well.
The Uber One management page said my next renewal would be $9.99…
Note, you MUST pay with PayPal, every time, to get Uber One benefits. This is similar to Lyft Pink benefits not applying if you use any other card except Chase. Otherwise it will give you standard pricing on rides. Ironically none of the promos work as a result on the checkout (they don’t apply). Not a fan of this, cancelled — let them have my $1.68.
All of the promos do work as long as you’re targeted for them(sent to your email), any code not sent to your email you won’t be able to apply, I’ve been using codes ever since getting the 6 months for 1.6$
Yeah, I think not only Paypal, it has to be the same card you signed up with. Have not figured out a way to change the card associated with the Uber One membership in Paypal. My membership runs through May and I want to PC my card next month, so will most likely lose out on a couple of months most likely.

Are you cancelling through the app on your own or by chat? And at what step do they show you that offer? I don’t want to click too far. Thanks!
On the iOS app: I just initiated the flow and kept clicking Continue until it showed me that offer (I t believe the final button to confirm should be red and an obvious last step to complete the cancellation)

Looks like I’m getting a 7th month at the discounted rate. My 1st month started 5/22/22, and the app shows my next payment on 11/22/22 being $1.66.
That’s a glitch in the app. It’s going to renew at $9.99 if you don’t cancel it. Happened to me yesterday. Support cancelled and refunded me.

I had to change my Uber email so that it matched my primary PayPal email. Worked! I even got the $25 off coupon!
