The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Citi are offering a transfer bonus of up to 40% when you transfer your Citi ThankYou points to Qatar Airways. Bonus you receive depends on how many you transfer:
    • Transfer up to 20,000 points and get a 20% transfer bonus
    • Transfer 21,000+ points and get a 40% transfer bonus

The Fine Print

  • Valid until June 30, 2022

Our Verdict

This is actually a transfer bonus from Qatar instead of Citi but Citi is the only participating credit card partner available. Qatar recently moved to Avios from Qmiles, making this more attractive.

I made a transfer on 6/3 and received the bonus today (7/7); so the bonus took 34 days.

If you also have Citi Rewards+, the bonus is essentially almost 56%.

Im surprised this isn’t more popular as its effectively 40% to BA Avios.

It seems we can earn 40% bonus not only from Citi transfer but also Amex and other banks.

The flight experience is very good – at least in biz class (QSuite) – but their customer service is horrible.

I transferred 68k citi thank you points on June 2nd. Qatar says it will take up to 45 days to credit the bonus. I’ll update if and when I get the bonus.

Holy crap, thats like the worst! You’d have to plan months in advance for a flight if this is true

I ended up getting the transfer bonus the same time everyone else did – July 7th.
