Our Verdict
Nice discount for Walmart. This is one I can actually use, but sadly wasn’t targeted. While stores and gas are excluded, you can try buying $150 physical gift card (affiliate link) and use that in-store or at the pump. Note, the fine print excludes gift cards; let us know if you try.

Ordered a couple of items, and purchased a $70 physical gift card, received cashback by chase.
Used.bofa to purchase physical gift cards. Immediate email received that the offer was “redeemed”.
I purchased a $100 e-gift card on 1/15. Still nothing. I am going to assume that the e-gift cards don’t work. They worked last time but they weren’t excluded last time
How does the eGC purchase code on your credit card statement?
Shows up as Walmart egift card with merchant type: discount store. I guess it won’t count this time 🙁
Damn…. I see all the datapoints of people doing physical gc’s instead, but to me it’s not worth the risk of the physical gc getting lost in the mail, showing up with zero funds…etc.
They ship with tracking, haven’t had an issue myself.
Do you mind sharing how quick they shipped it? The offer expires in a few days but I’ll be out of town end of next week and don’t want to risk it if I’m away and they leave it at my door.
When you go to the Walmart.com website and search for plastic gift cards, underneath the star-ratings, most of the cards say “Shipping, arrives in 2 days” with the number of days in bold.
When you click on any individual card, right underneath the dollar amount is a line “How you’ll get this item” and it shows the delivery date.
I ordered one today, January 27, and through the cart, and then order confirmation it said “Shipping, arrives by Monday, January 29”.
The offer expires on January 31 so you definitely need it to be shipped and charged to your card no later than January 31.
Got tracking notice from Walmart early this morning (Sunday). Gift card was shipped via FedEx; 425 miles from Troutman, NC to Florida. I’ll update when/if it arrives tomorrow.
Gift card received today, Monday, January 29 at noon.
Offer finally appears in the “Redeemed” tab of the Offers Wallet today, February 2. Shows “You saved $15; Used on Jan 27, 2024”.
(Never received the usual “You used one of your Chase Offers!” email.)
I placed an order yesterday afternoon and it was already delivered to me today. Therefore, if you place the order today or tomorrow, it will almost certainly arrive before you go on your trip.

I’ve done some more looking and it does not appear that you can order a physical gift card online and pick up curbside or in-store.

If I use WellsFargo credit card, do you know if Choice Hotels Wells Fargo credit card will trigger wells fargo deals such as 15% off Walmart? Or it has to be only wells fargo credit cards such as Wells Fargo Autograph?

I purchased another physical Walmart gc using another Chase card that had the same offer. I received the credit but did not receive the “CONRATS!” email like with the other card.
