American Express & Cardless have announced a new partnership. Cardless will launch new cards on the American Express payment network and also received an investment from Amex Ventures (American Express’ strategic investment group). It’s unclear if existing cardless cards that run on the Mastercard payment network.
So I get this email from cardless today saying how they are cutting their referral bonus in half…
How much was it before, and how much is it going to be now?
Was 10,000 points ($100), will now be 5,000… was the 2nd half of your question meant to be rhetorical? 🙂
Have they lifted the 1 card per person limit? Or was that just for signing bonuses? Would feel bad to miss out on a juicy cashback card.
Interesting that they highlight the Cardless digital capabilities, but also talk about adding Amex Offers access, which implies using Amex’s site/app. Should be fun to watch.
[Deleted, my mistake]
Every Amex card can access offers on Amex Connect, there’s nothing new there.
Consistently fails on my Propel and has for atleast a year
Hopefully this change means the SUB gets better than the current $50 offer. I’ve been holding back applying because of it.
Yeah it’s disappointing they lowered the SUB on all the cards. Still looks like they have a one card limit though.
It’s a strange look for Cardless. They slash SUBs from $300 to $50, cut referrals in half, then announce new funding/partners… ok.
I hate to brag, but I was ahead of you all–I’ve been combining AmEx and cardless since I got the lifetime ban from the former.
Why are you banned by Amex life-time in the first place?
