Our Verdict

The terms have a stated limit of $1,500/$75, though I’m not seeing that enforced at checkout. You’ll get $12.50 discount per $250 virtual Visa card. The fees are $5.95 each.

It ends up being a $6.55 net on each card. This gets much more interesting if you can go through a portal for an additional 3% back, or $7.50 per card. Some report seeing 6% back with the Capital One Shopping app. I’m not seeing this promo code mentioned by the portals and it probably won’t track (?). If it does track, it would stack nicely with the airline shopping portal promos which are ending soon.

An additional 1.5% cash back posted to my Citi card today. Looks like the Merchant Offer did work… just took a month to post. Nice surprise

was able to buy hyatt bonus points using one of these, not a terrible liquidation method.

Bought 14k points for $235.20 ($229.03 using the discounted visa GC), so grinded cost down to 1.63 cents per point
plus
2.625% Cash Back with BOA Unlimited Cash Rewards
3.15 AA miles per dollar spent (portal CB from giftcards.com, also counts towards AA platinum status I’m pursuing purely through CC spend and shopping portals)
2.69% Cash Back Points.com (via TCB)

Have immediate use for the points. a 2 night reservation at Hyatt Place Orlando end of September was either $361 total with tax for cash rate, or 13,000 total hyatt points (6500 per night). Buying 13000 points at 1.63 cents per point equals a total out of pocket cost of $211.90 with $11.26 cash back (between credit card and TCB portal for points.com) and 668 AA miles coming back in reverse. Sure I lose out on earning hyatt points (im discoverist FWIW), but thats a great deal and a lot of extra value yielded.

rakuten has monthly limit of $2000. Is it a calendar month, or every 30 days?

Do these guys silently block purchases (or rather give a bogus message) when going through a CB portal?

Constantly getting the message:
‘Some of the information you entered appears to be incorrect. Please review your billing information’
