Citi Dividend card has released the 5% categories for the fourth quarter of 2022:
- Restaurants – Includes purchases at cafes, bars, lounges and fast-food restaurants. Excludes purchases at bakeries, caterers, restaurants located inside another business (such as hotels, stores, stadiums, grocery stores, or warehouse clubs) and third-party dining delivery services.
- Select travel – Includes airline, hotel, cruise line and travel agency purchases. Excludes timeshares, boat leases and rentals, campgrounds and trailer parks, and real estate agencies.
Remember, Citi is different than other 5% quarterly cards in that you have a $6,000 annual cap rather than a $1,500 quarterly cap. You can get 5% back on up to $6,000 in this quarter, you can save the entire amount for a different quarter, or you can use part up each quarter. A lot of people might have already maxed out their Dividend cards for the year with $6,000 in purchases during Q2 2022 quarter of Grocery and Drugstores given how easy it is to use the Grocery category or to buy gift cards from the drugstore and grocery store.
What the heck is up with Citi waiting till the last minute these past few quarters to tell us what the deal is?
Can someone remind me – if my statement closes 12/22 (I’m already maxed out the the $300 for 2022), and I make a $5000 payment on a cruise on 12/23, I should still get the 5% since that will be considered a January earn, correct?
Uber, Doordash, Grubhub orders are not eligible. In that case I may not be able to use this card at all in Q4 since I do not anticipate any travel expenses.
Is there a way to get this card nowadays?? Product change perhaps?
not anymore
I’ve been waiting for several quarters now for Citi to finally nix this and convert us over to the Custom Cash. Some are already receiving notices about an automatic PC but you can “opt out” and keep the Dividend for the time being.
