Sign Up Bonus History
- November 21st, 2011 – Current: 80,000 Bonus points when you spend $1,000 within three months. Annual fee of $49 waived the first year.
F.A.Q’s
Once I hit the minimum spending requirement of $1,000, how soon will my bonus points post?
The bonus points will appear at the close of the billing period in which you accrue the required minimum spend. For example if your billing period is start of month – end of month and you do $1,000 in purchases in January then your bonus points will post at the end of that billing period (in this case the end of January). If the minimum spend requirement is completed within 10 days of the statement closing (in this case any time after the 20th of January) the bonus points may appear at the end of the next billing period (in this case at the end of February).
It takes 1-2 days for the bonus points to appear in your IHG account.
some update, below is the response from Chase after I sent them the message asking whether they can match up the 80,000 bonus plus $50 statement credit, for reference:
We would like to explain that the $50.00 statement credit
and 80,000 Reward Point offer is only available when
applying for instant credit while booking an IHG hotel
reservation online. Regrettably, we are unable to honor
your request and issue the additional points to the
account since the specific reservation path was not used
for this offer.
We’ll be happy to match the offer to earn 80,000 points
offer without a statement credit. Please contact us once
you meet the $2,000.00 spend for your current offer and
we’ll add the additional 10,000 points at that time.
Currently 60,000 points plus 5,000 points for an added user, not 80,000 points. Here is the link on their website: https://creditcards.chase.com/credit-cards/ihg-rewards-club?CELL=6TKV
