Our Verdict
Don’t think this one will payout for a long time considering that they are still taking action against some of the chicken producers yet to settle. Although the terms state that might be subject to a separate settlement.
Hat tip to reader RM
Those damn chickens must be stopped! Always pecking at others, and pooing everywhere…disgusting. Finally, some generous, altruistic class action lawyers are holding them accountable.
These chicken companies better not cheap out and give us coupons.
Such a great pun opportunity missed here.
Don’t egg them on.
That joke barely scratches the surface.
who chicken’ out?
wonder if warehouse chicktizens are included
persons and entities who indirectly purchased …. indirectly purchased?
Did you eat chicken at a restaurant between 11 to 4 years ago?
jed “Indirectly purchased” is a term of art in antitrust law. It means that you were a retail purchaser, and did not buy directly from the producers who are being sued. Wholesalers and supermarkets would be examples of direct purchasers.
Oops, I was adding to my tracker after submitting and looks like I already filed on 9/20/2021.
Don’t worry. I’m on my third one now. This thing has been dragged on for long. I hope they are diligent on removing duplicate requests. Though I did accidentally duplicate submission on Lenovo one and I got 2 checks.
There’s a pork one too: https://overchargedforpork.com/
Great, the other white meat.
Oh boy get ready to receive your electronic QR code or mailed unscannable upc coupons/certs for that generous $0.25 off chicken discount at the store where they don’t accept/scan coupons.
At least the lawyers will get some money.
You’re giving me flashbacks to the mike and ike settlement. 8 coupons that never scanned and the cash award ended up being $40 for those that chose that over the candy.
When given the choice, always cash.
Hard disagree on that if it is a product you may use in the future. The StubHub settlement only paid $20 in cash but $548.70 on credits.
My kids were able to redeem all 8 mike & ikes. I’d rather have had cash but it is what it is. Looking back at my tracker other than Mike & Ikes every other non-cash item I’ve either missed, not received, or let expire ($6 GAP voucher, credit monitoring, etc) so I really should just opt for the cash in every case even if trivial.
Was there a cash option? I got coupons (which worked) but I would definitely have taken cash if that was an option.
I got an ulcer from eating 10 boxes of Red Hots.
Who knows? Maybe I’ll be lucky and receive a pullet surprise.
Dad is that you?
No, I’m here son.
In for 1!
$181 million and it impacts more than half the country?
The per claimant payout is going to be embarrassingly low
0.01 cent each

Qualifying question 2 states you must have been an actual resident of the state you purchased chicken in to qualify….not just a visitor buying for those wondering.
“2.
