Applied OOS. Denied due to Chex.
Probably could’ve spaced out my apps a little better since my Chex was relatively clean prior to this latest round.
7/30 (6 of them on the same day–I’m pretty sure that’s what spooked them).
Chatted with the rep before applying. They confirmed it’ll be a hard pull but cannot specify which one. I think I’ll pass.
Got a HP from them on TU
Declined due to Chex (spoke with a rep) D:
What were your Chex numbers/did they cite any particular count/timeframe as too high?
Bankdealguy said it’s nationwide with a donation. Will Fidelity work for DD?
Where is the donation selection? Don’t see donation as an option in the application, seems to be only for specific groups/location/relatives in MN.
Chat rep told me just to pick one
Any recent successful DPs? If so, do they allow any cc funding at all? The hard pull and chex sensitivity sucks, but the $10/mo on the debit card could be worth it if cashapp/venmo/etc works
Who came up with this CU’s name Expedition? That sounds like Extradition to me…..
got hard pulled on my credit report, maybe not Chex sensitive though because I have a horrible Chex history and usually have to open in a branch, however, this allowed me to create an account online.
Who did they pull? TU?
I have known CUs that will “approve” and open your account immediately, but then close it 2 days later due to Chexsystems.
How is it going? Were you out of state and/or high Chex (or did you have negative items on your history)? Did they keep the account open/you’re definitely in?
which bureau
and what were your chex counts at the time you applied (if the account stayed open)?
They definitely use Chex. I was declined due to Chex (spoke with a rep)
dang. what were your counts at the time/did they mention a particular number/time period that was the problem?
No they didn’t say.
I’ve only been doing bonuses for less than a year, and this was the first time I was denied due to chex. Guess I’m a pro now
nice, welcome to the club 😉 it’s super annoying having to track/worry about chex (although at least now they let you view it online so you can check whether they pulled it or not/keep track of your counts). my strategy is to try to space my inquiries out (so i only have 1 a month or less) or clump them together (open with a bank that is more sensitive first, then open with several afterwards that either don’t pull chex or pull but don’t care about inquiries so they can age out at roughly the same time). usually works out pretty well, although i might have to wait on this one til closer to the end of the year and hope they don’t pull it early. :-/
William Charles Offer was extended. “Coupon offer valid through 1/31/24.”
Hard pull *and* Chex sensitive? Hard pass
Hard pull on which bureau?
No idea. Didn’t apply
