Our Verdict
Best bonus was 175,000 points, this is 35,000 less but comes with the $100 statement credit. We have also seen 140,000 points + free night certificate. I think those were better offers than this, but some might prefer this offer.
Sign-up bonus: Earn 165,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 on purchases within three months of account opening. 2/8/2024
I see new offer via referral for IHG Premier Card,
“EARN 4 FREE NIGHTS
(each Free Night valued at up to 40,000 points)
After spending $3,000 in the first 3 months from account opening
”
may be good for some people. William Charles Chuck
I spent $20000. Received 10000 bonus points but have not received $100 statement credit. Any idea how long it takes to receive this?
Anyone knows if booking a room will trigger the $100 bonus? Or does it have to be spent at e.g. a hotel restaurant?
Does this mean if I still have the old IHG Rewards CC (AF:$50), I won’t qualify for this offer? Or is it only if I have the an existing IHG One Rewards CC?
After ihgs 100% f-u devaluation last year, this offer is pretty terrible. In order to get the same buying power as before the criminal deval, ihg will have to offer closer to 300k points on this card
Not worth considering
if u dont have an IHG card and have Diamond I think having one of these cards is great. Esp 4 nights for the cost of 3. Kimptons pretty free outside of the USA and I have had fantastic service in Europe.
165K points was a better offer
That was for the business. This is for the personal.
As Akash has pointed out, the 165K offer was for business. But, the business offer was only marginally better because $100 can buy you 20K points. Essentially, it’s 160K vs 165K. 5K is no biggie.
i am finding a lot of value these days out of the new and continuously improving IHG program. i think value wise, they have moved above marriot and hilton for me
find myself in surprised agreement…. (after years of complaining about IHG) Hilton’s point costs per night have done nothing but go up, up, and up since Covid…. with all sorts of miserable games from property to property, sticking it to customers with points. (like at beach locations, reserving rooms ONLY facing the parking lots — as a miserable result, I’m sitting on two accounts of half million Hilton pesos) Marriott, not quite so bad…. by contrast, we again and again have been pleasantly surprised…. at least with lower end options (and always w/ breakfast) with IHG…. dynamic pricings has been a boon/plus for IHG, an unending source of irritation w/ Hilton & now Marriott too.
Too bad we don’t have Darius D or esp. Drew & Carrie @ TiF anymore to keep ’em honest.
Totally agree
Yup. It’s Hyatt and then IHG. Love the 3 nights 4th free.
