I too bought one for my toddler. Maybe this will be wildly successful and they’ll realize they should sell -ann amazon van/truck toy. My kid loves trucks and There’s a giant lapse there. The only ones available are usps, an ups van (not truck), and a DHL van. Where the f is amazon and FedEx, and for that matter a UPS truck.

In the weeds full disclosure: there is a plastic UPS truck but the doors don’t open so kids don’t like it as much.

There are a ton of amazon trucks on eBay.

I just jumped over there to look and found it’s the same weird lackluster options as all the other brands. They’ve got a huge semi, or a factory tours van. No delivery truck, van, etc.

Do these play trill rap at max volume?

I think the loud music is for driver’s safety. (For when they quietly creep on your property and take pictures…of delivered packages.) I do worry about their long term hearing, though.

My toddler loves seeing these vans, recently the driver let him sit in one and he was extremely excited. In for one.

Got one for the kids to play with for a minute. It’s free, why not? I just have to spent 10 seconds to reload the money to my account so no big deal. Neat little thing for them to offer.

That reminds me of the time my grandfather took me for a walk and we stopped by a train that was waiting at the sidetrack. They let me go inside and sit in the driver’s seat. I was so thrilled about it that I’ll probably never forget it.

Amazon wasting money on these tins and the cost of shipping these tins must be why their prime day deals are garbage, I guess they figure if they can trap $50 of your money in your Amazon account you will have to spend it eventually even if there aren’t any good deals.

Still a good business decision.
They get these trucks for pennies.
When you buy a gift card, they have the cash in hand for small to long period of time before customer ends up using it. Some may even go unused. I forgot the number but there was an article about Starbucks and there was a number stated of what % of gift card has never been used and the amount was huge. I imagine it’ll be same for Amazon too.
Free advertisement. I know everyone knows Amazon but it’s the same thing like Coke constanly advertising themselves.
Happy consumer for getting the freebie.
A good way to put trackers on these toys to track consumers. Well this one is hypothetical but still a possibility.
Overall, it’s a profitable option for them.
P.S. I still dislike Amazon and its business practices.

It has nothing to do with this. Amazon used to bundle a free teddy bear with a gift card purchase several years ago when Prime Day was still good. I’m sure these tins cost way less than teddy bears.

This is ok. It’s not like they are charging extra for it.

Amazon tin boxes are useful for all the physical cards from MS!

You know what… that’s actually kind of cool. It’s also very stupid and pointless… but hey, whatever… they got me. I’m going to get one, lol.

Again, it’s stupid and I’m stupid for getting one. But it’s fun to do and have stupid things sometimes, lol.

You probably get 200 cardboard boxes from amazon per year, but the little van is too much 🤔

200 boxes a year? We don’t all have shopping addictions like you, Mark. For the boxes I do get, I reuse them for storage, shipping off stuff, or recycling.

It’s cardboard and recyclable. Surely you’re recycling paper and cardboard? If not, why not? Unlike plastic, those actually get recycled. Much better than sending them to a landfill!

It would cost more $ and fuel to recycle than it’s worth. They make good kindling if you can’t use em to ship or pack something as is.
