42k roundtrip to Auckland booked for Dec during holiday season. Finally a decent value for my sky pesos
I am going to Tahiti (8hrs) in economy on 11/1-11/7. Booked through Virgin Atlantic for about 212,000 points for 3 ppl. These points has been sitting here since 2020 when I had to cancel my ANA first class to Japan because of Covid 🙁 LAX to PPT via Air France. PPT to LAX via Delta. For this Delta sale, it would cost me 240,000 Skymiles for the same date.
Enjoy! I would suggest heading over to Moorea. You can take a boat. This was years ago (honeymoon) but we took a 4 wheeler excursion up the mountain stopping to sample some of the local “beverages.” Not sure they have DUI laws, ha!
Sadly Japan seems to be quite expensive still for the best dates. Not much cheaper than I usually find for my airports

Economy would be torture for these destinations, but I had a trip planned for these dates so I booked to see if an upgrade to business class would be cheap too. No dice, as you’d expect.
Delta One is torture as well. Their seats are hard as a rock and they don’t provide a mattress pad like other airlines. United Polaris is so much better.
I agree. I’d rather stay home than fly 12+ hours in economy. Even if my hotels were paid for, I’d rather stay home if I had to be in econ that long
You folks are fancy to be paying business just coz or is this internet bragging, lot of folks take economy.Even those are not affordable if doing 1/2 trips a year.
Maybe if you learned proper grammar, you too could be traveling in business class.

I make pretty decent money. I will only ever fly economy lol. Simply does not make sense to me to spend more. The point of a flight (to me) is to get from point A to point B. Being uncomfortable for 12-18 hours is pretty irrelevant to me as I am not there to enjoy the flight, I am there to enjoy the destination
Where did anyone say anything about paying business class prices? Look at what website we’re on. I can’t sleep sitting up. I’m tall. Arriving rested on a trip to the other side of the globe is worth paying extra points for the programs that keep it reasonable. Delta is not one of those programs. That’s why I’m keeping my Alaska bookings.

Booked a tix LAX-AKL-LAX for our daughter to join us in New Zealand next year for 42K SM – but have to stage to LAX.
May re-book her on AC for 54K PDX-AKL-PDX.
But URs are easy to get great value out of -Skymiles less so often – was planning on using on a PDX-AMS nonstop – but EU/UK its easy to find cheap/award flights.
