Our Verdict

Mygiftcardsplus is nice in that you can choose your own denomination. Another positive is that you get credit card rewards on the entire purchase, before the discount, since the rewards come as a credit back to your Swagbucks account. More details can be found in our review of Mygiftcardplus here.

Interestingly this is the best merchant for discount Chipotle GC I bought this holiday season. 15% off/back is on par with other places, but the fact that mygiftcardplus charges card on the whole price before discount is a plus for several reasons:

  1. I earn CC reward on the full amount, as mentioned in the post; basically buying SB at face value, $1 buys 100 SB, while also earning CC reward on the SB bought
  2. They allow Paypal for buying GCs (unlike some other places like Staples), so I can get 5% on Freedom
  3. I had a bunch of spend $50+ 3/4 times to earn x00 pts Paypal offers (250 to 500 pts in my experience) in the last 5 months, and currently has my best offer so far: make 4x $50+ transactions to earn 600pts. Buying at $50 face value allows me to complete this offer at the minimum spending needed. $6 back after $200 spend is essentially an additional 3% back on top of 5% CC and 15% in SB, all percent of face value, not a compound of discounted values (3% + 5% + 15% instead of 97% * 95% * 85%).
  4. 1 SB is worth more than 1 cent as I can get prepaid MC at 13% off every month.

Used my Upromise card to buy a $150 Uber GC. With the extra $25 from Upromise in Dec and the $15 discount, it is essentially $110, effectively 26.7% off.

Buy Lowe’s at 10% cash back and use in store with 10% military discount. Great buy.
