Our Verdict
Lately Giftcards.com has not been allowing portal stacking, and so this is likely just a play for the 10% discount. Max this out with a single order of three $100 Mastercard e-gift cards, and you’ll end up with a bit of savings. The fee is $5.95 per card, and you’ll get $10 off. Total should be $4.05 ‘profit’ per card which some might find worthwhile.
Use Chase Freedom via Paypal for 5x. Readers are saying that Rakuten seems to be working for this deal. And a reader said the Southwest portal (Cartera) worked as well.
4 orders paid out at 3% as a statement credit via Capital One Offers today. Didn’t think they would based on other people’s experience with other portals, and the fact that I didn’t get the typical “your 3% back is on the way” emails this time. Even got credit for the 4th order which giftcards.com cancelled!
Tried PayPal bill pay with those e-GiftCards. I selected this eGC as my payment method, but PayPal automatically ignored my eGC and used my bank as payment method… welp.
FYI there is a 3rd code, MERRYMASTERCARD. I was able to buy three times, each time using different code. Haven’t tried same code twice yet. All on same account (not always logged in, but I used same Paypal account so all 3 orders showed up in same Giftcards.com account).
I have used the same code, same account, same credit card more than 5 times.
They must’ve changed something because if I first sign in to my account and then checkout with a previously used code, it says code has already been used. Same error message for all three codes. Tested after my 3rd order while the deal was still active.
I was able to use PayPal bill pay and beside Amazon does anyone know if any website accepts these for gift card purchase? I just wanted to see if additional cashback can be gained. I tried a bunch from giftcard wiki, all denied.
I can only place 3 orders, each has 3*100 gift cards. The following orders are all failed. Saying did not pass the screening test. Bummer
P2 was targeted with 9% Cap1 cashback, used one of the code to purchase MGC. It got tracked but under details it say ineligible, so I guess P2 will not be getting any cashback.
Thank you for this DP. This seems to be the consistent emerging pattern for C1 Shopping.
I’ve actually done this 4x (with the 9%) and have had it track on Cap1 each time and have gotten the “Your $24.30 in Shopping Rewards are on the way!” email each time. I’m using Chrome on my laptop with the Cap1 extension.
Garence If it sticks, cash out ASAP. I had some purchases in March and April that tracked using a targeted rate and unlisted promo codes, and were clawed back by C1 Shopping two months later. Similar purchases at the same time without promo codes were not clawed back.
Hi everyone, how do you do when you have dust/cents/low balance remaining on the account? Imagine you have $0.86 remaining on the account, how would you spend it? Thank you
Try your various utilities providers. My cell phone company will accept credit card payments as small as $0.01. YMMV, obviously. ArbellaSocio
Try adding it to PayPal and using PayPal billpay.
can we add it into paypal account to do paypal bill pay?
Can confirm, this works. I’ve sent 3 payments to my insurance company in 100$ increments using these cards
Does Rakuten award cashback at giftcards.com by just clicking through yo the site or only with the browser extension? The wording on the site seems to make it out like it only gives cashback with the extension. Perhaps why some are reporting it works and other reporting it doesn’t?
“Shop Without Adding” says 1% after you click it, so the extension is not needed. However, the reported order amount is $0, so there is no cashback.
Rakuten does not work.
That’s been my experience as well. Did several transactions from 3 days ago and all show shopping trip but none are showing $ earned as of now.
