Depending on the gift card, I save them as PDFs to my computer and use when needed. Most of the time, I use in short order.
There is a Chase 10% offer for DoorDash that might work with this. I’ve previously used a BoA offer to buy a gift card through DoorDash that counted.
Honestly, I just print them out and put the hard copies in a file folder. Works well for me.
I add them to the account. Why wouldn’t you want to do that?
Some people say some services give you fewer promo offers if you have a gift card balance (not sure if that’s really true though). Risk that if your account is shut down you may lose the gift card balance. Or if you decide to stop using a service, harder to sell your gift cards to someone else. Risk that if your account is hacked someone may spend your gift card balance (but maybe the risk of your gift card code being used before you add it to your account is greater). If you have an offer on your credit card, you might want to pay with CC instead of gift card (some services let you decide whether to use the gift card balance on each order (though usually it’s all or nothing), but I think DoorDash forces you to use it). If you (or friend/family) have another account on the service that shows you a targeted offer, you might want to use the gift card there instead of your main account.
But, I usually just add them to my account.
