As an aside my Citi Costco visa noted an extra 5% on travel (airfare, hotels, rental cars) up to $25 back through jan 31st. Have not seen that on here yet. Its worth putting $500 spend on it for that.

Doesn’t seem like a great deal, Citi wouldn’t have handed them out like candies if it was.
For hotel chains where you care about points, better book directly using their co-brand CCs for much better earning rates. For other stays, some other OTA may be cheaper and OTAs also have surprisingly competent loyalty programs.
For cars you probably want to book using a card that offers primary insurance.
For attractions, maybe? But you can also try calling the operator directly and sometimes get a better rate by cutting out the middle man.
this may stack nicely if you haven’t used the $100 off $500 annual credit yet, which can make using citi portal better than chase portal. i also like that this card allows transfers to eva air, which chase does not
It looks like a nice stack, but the hotel prices on Citi travel portal are often inflated compared to booking directly or even compared with hotels.com. It can be an OK stack but very YMMV.
yeah good call. i also don’t usually like it if i’m booking a hotel i have status in since those don’t carry over consistently…
Not bad offer but you have to book through Citi travel portal. Chase Sapphire Reserve also have 10x on hotels and car rentals through Chase travel portal.
YMMV but Citi IT being Citi IT is still to take away the 10X TY points it gave me upon booking for a refundable hotel reservation that I ended up canceling several weeks ago.

10x points awarded right after booking. I had to cancel the booking for a refund, but the 10x points stayed.
We want an 80k point sign up bonus!
I’d like to actually be able to get the card when they offer the 80K bonus. I’ve been rejected for having too much unused credit with other banks on several occasions. It seems like they really don’t want to compete for my business.
Is it auto applied to everyone having this card?
