Our Verdict
Excellent offer. Previous bonus in November 2023 was three free nights. Prior offers were 100k-125k points or 125k + two free night certificates.
Offer is available via referrals as well. No referrals in the comments below. Check out these Things To Know about American Express credit card before applying. We’ll add this to our list of Best Credit Card Signup Bonuses.
I would have signed up for this but doesn’t look like this was ever posted to the “Best Credit Card Sign up Bonuses”.
That list is not well maintained.
Has anyone used these in a good tier hotel in Hawaii?
I used them at the AC hotel in Hawaii. Saved us a ton of $
I used 7 nights of free nights last spring break in Sheraton Maui. P2 applied today and planning to do the same.
Did you also have an elite status with Marriott? Just wondering if you received/asked for the room upgrade?
The site said I’m ineligible because I had the Starwood Preferred Guest card. But that was over 7 years ago, I thought Amex ignored things over 7 years. Any way I can get around this?
Are these certificates really worth it? Every decent hotel to destinations i would use are well over 66K per night. I only find 2-3 star hotels in non prime locations below 60K. I think the better offer is 100-125K pts plus 2 free (50K) nights. This gives you more flexibility with those points and you only have 2 sub par nights expiring in a year not 5.
Points offer is better, unless you have a target booking in mind that fits the 50K certificates. I got the Chase Boundless 5 FNC deal last year and did make use of them, but one year passes quickly, and you can’t extend the FNCs.
Not sure if it’s just me, but I’m seeing some wild rates in Tokyo rn. Lower-end hotels like the Moxy Tokyo that retail for ~$160/night are going for 149k points/night. That’s basically 0.1 CPP.
It almost as if Marriott were intentionally jacking up points costs to counteract all the 5x50k certs they’ve given out as SUBs this year b/w the Boundless and Biz cards.
Last year I was able to book the The Westin Excelsior, Rome and the Ritz Carlton Budapest with them. Both fantastic hotels. But it can be hard to find uses for them .
I got 5 nights at Mangroove in Co as ta rica with personal offer 5 night certs. While I did apply SNA from platinum status for better room, would have been totally worth it. For standard room. No brainer offer.
I think I got the chase one from last year with 5 free nights with 50K each night and $150 fee boundless card, it shouldn’t mattet if I get this from Amex right? Also, any DP’s of Marriott renewing those 50K certs after 1 year expiration if I can’t utilize them by september?
If you hold one you cant get the other and I think it was reported of no renewal with certs.
“If you hold one you cant get the other”
What?
If you have the Amex they will not allow you to get the Chase and vice versa.
How long after completing the spend do the free nights show up in Marriott account?
Does it take a few days for my bonvoy number to appear in my Amex login? I double checked that I entered it on my application.
I have the Chase Bonvoy Boundless opened June 5th 2022, met 5 night SUB requirements first statement closing July 4th 2022. I want the Amex Bonvoy Business next month at the 24 month mark, but am unclear from the eligibility chart I found more precisely what date I would be eligible? Is the 24 months exact, does it round up to the closest end of month, or can you apply at the start of the 24th month?
same question but i applied last year (sept 2023 i think) for the chase boundless, I was reading the terms i didn’t find any verbiage on re-application, probably you can’t do Amex bonvoy yeach year.
Can these certs have the 15k points added onto them?
Yes, the app allows it also.
Yes, you can top each of these certificates off with up to 15k additional points per night.
And you will find a lot of hotels needing 66k points a night.
Does amex match sub offers? I signed up last week when the offer was only 3 nights…
